I would love to become a pro-gamer, but that isn't going to happen anytime soon because I'm a silver league noob =P. I was wondering what ways I could just get involved. I have been getting into starcraft esports in a big way. I watch more events, try to find BSG's to play in, and I am just getting more and more competitive in game. I would just like to contribute or be involved in some way, but I am not quite sure how to start. I am a Highschool student, and I am looking for part time work, so sadly I won't have all the time in the world to just play and watch starcraft. So, my question for you, the reader, is what ways can I be apart of the scene or should I just keep playing and just be supportive by watching and rooting for the reigning player? Thank you for your time.

Good Question: im into Starcraft: Broodwar and the scene is very different. I'd like to answer anyway. You can do a lot actually. As a fact, any (healthy) esport scene lives not only by the big corporations that run big events, but also by the time and effort of all the fan volunteers who put a lot of work into what they do for the community. And there is a job for everyone! Sc2 needs LR Threads, TL needs mods, writers, contribtors of various kind. You can also write Liquipedia articles and or edit them and etend our knowledge base. There is a ton of smaller and less well staffed sites for sc2 aswell, who need people who contribute. You can cast and or organize small scale events, or contribute by working on a mod, interesting maps, basically there is little limit of things you can do and that contribute to a heatlthy scene. The Question is rather: what are your intetests and talents? you have to figure that out for yourself.
5/5 coz this was a blog that actually makes sense and not yet another random "10k spams on TL" blog.

In general, imo it's best to take your time (few months maybe) and just observe everything that is being done, be it here on TL or anywhere else. You'll begin to understand why things are done the way they are and how much time and effort it takes for stuff to be done, how multiple people must work together as a team to get it done with back-ups or plan B's almost always coming into play.
When you have a pretty good idea, you can always find your place and things to improve that would interest you, but you should keep in mind your capabilities and not take on too much work. Learn to say no to others but to yourself as well. One of the biggest motivation killers for contributors is taking up too much stuff at once, stuff that requires regular attention and isn't particularly interesting. Such people then often feel bad about promising stuff to others and not following through with it and suddenly disappear. It's dumb but it happens. Start slowly by doing a small one-time project.

You should only get in if you are capable of being number one in the world. Otherwise you will just waste time without winning.
