Here are some of the things I have made so far.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/TDbB40e.png) About 2 hours
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/MEsMykm.jpg) 30 mins
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/LX4T9mp.jpg) 30 mins
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/dx9w8d4.jpg) 30 mins
Black and white sketches:

That's it for today. I'll try to update more often!

So good.
I love Microns, love them to death.
I really like the "simpler" digital pieces you did (2nd and 3rd pieces). They seem almost like an exercise in getting a point across in as few strokes as possible.
I really like your depth of field, though one thing that I think is a little off is how it looks like your second and third pieces are taken from a perspective of laying on the ground. It's just not a way that I normally look at things so it's probably just my eyes being confused about the positions. Depth of field in general is really hard to pull off I feel, so that might be part of it.
I will say that especially showcased with the first piece, you're excellent at drawing the eyes to what seems most important to a piece, with nice control over light and detail.
Very well done, thanks for sharing!

Wow- I've never seen your blog before but this is very impressive stuff. Thanks!

Thanks Noobity
I do agree with you. For me the speedpaints are much more gratifying since they evoke much more movement and artistic freedom. Once you finish the base concept and start fleshing it out, it starts becoming more rigid and still. I applied a filter blur for the 2nd and 3rd images to simulate lens blurs for depth of field. This happens when focusing in on small objects (king frog image), or when setting the focus to distant objects but have objects really close by (winter landscape).
Again, thanks for the nice comments and taking the time to write your feedback!

Hi Bigfan, glad you like my stuff I started drawing since I was 8 years old, got into game design and modding at 14~15, and went to animation school at 21. I am now 29 years old

Animation school doesnt really teach you how to speed paint, it was more of a generalist approach to animation career. I've been painting on my own for a while now. I used a Wacom Intuos tablet.

Nice man. I really love your choice of colors.
Just curious, are you doing this professionally?

I always liked your style. simple to look at but still conveys powerful / epic themes.

That sounds awesome to be able to do both of those (let me know if you guys are ever looking for another concept artist )

The frog is unbelievably good, there's a thing to it that make it so cool, but I don't know what it is

Damn these are super sick dude. Unbelievable how you can make some of those in as little as 30 minutes. I would imagine that shit is an all day project.
|
What's that first picture of? Did you create that from scratch, si the inspiration drawn from somewhere or is it an actual character? Because holy shit. :D
|
You drew these? Like... by hand?
Whoa.

wow, those look rediculesly good.
I just can't believe you made those within 30 minutes. it would take me like a full week and it still wouldn't be anyway near as good as yours.
I will use them as wallpapers now lol

I'm thinking of buying a Wacom tablet to play around with, nothing serious.
As I know almost nothing of the matter, I would like your suggestion on which would you pick among these choices:
1. Intuos CTL480L (R$ 253,21 ~ US$ 105) 2. Intuos CTH480L (R$ 382,21 ~ US$ 160) 3. Bamboo CTL470L (R$ 219,90 ~ US$ 91) 4. Bamboo CTH470L (R$ 345,86 ~ US$ 143)
They all look fairly good, since Wacom brand is quite reliable, but still there is a price difference that is puzzlying me.

Well, Bamboo are the cheapest Wacom option. They are good, but their hardware is a bit more fragile and it doesnt feel so solid. The Intuos are a much better option if you want to keep the tablet for some years. If you just want to test it out, feel free to buy a Bamboo.
As a note, those intuos 5 are the same as Bamboo models, only newer. THey rebranded Bamboo to Intuos 5 and re branded the new Intuos model to Intuos Pro. The Intuos 4 are the predecessors of Intuos Pro (they rebranded) and those are great. As a general rule of thumb, I would never buy a tablet smaller than 6x8 inches (medium size)
This is my current one: http://www.amazon.com/Wacom-Intuos4-Medium-Pen-Tablet/dp/B001TUYTZW
Hope that helps!

Ah, definitely helps, thanks a lot!
Since it's just for fun and I'm the only one who is going to use I may go with Bamboo.

It's so sick! I really like the depth of field effect in the first one. Amazing how quickly things can take shape!

You're really fucking good at this.

NarutO, hp.Shell, Heartland: Thanks for the nice words!

Your art is so good, it makes me boil over with the righteous anger of an artist who is not yet quite as good. 2 hours for that demon samurai?! Are you kidding me?!?!
You've got some fantastic designs here, and some amazing colors/great understanding of light sources. The tan/blue contrast in the samurai pic is very powerful.
Can you share anything about the games you've been involved with? Also, if you don't mind me asking, your longer-term plans? Are you interested in sticking with games, or do you wanna move over into comics, or...?
