Internet downtime is generally considered to be a rather unfortunate event, especially so if you're into joyful online activities like ripping starcraft vods. Yesterday it was more of a positive force as it reminded me I was going to do a battle report (after mere 30 minutes of contemplating suicide).

Have some background on the epic match-up that lies ahead of us!
(P)Tyson talks Jaedong and Bisu + Show Spoiler [Translation by Letmelose] +
Who is faster between Jaedong and Bisu? Everybody saw Bisu playing yesterday, right? He's fast, right? I already saw Bisu play, but watching Jaedong play is a whole another experience, it just doesn't compare. I never saw someone play that fast. It's just out of this world.

If you watch him play, you cannot help but get drawn into it. Sure Bisu's FPVs are something else, but I've watched Jaedong play, and thought to myself, how an earth is he that fast? Why is he so good? What's his secret? Is it his keyboards? Then you look at stuff like his monitor, how he drums on his keyboard, and his death-like stare. How the fuck did he get so good? Is it due to his death-like stare?

Can I be as good if I focused on the screen like him? Then you look at his hands, his keyboards, his mouse, and you ask yourself, what am I doing wrong? That's how good he is, and how fast he is.

I already told you about the story before, but there's this famous anecdote about Jaedong losing his mind the moment he missed a dropship on the minimap going towards his base, "fucking hell, how did I miss the dropship on the minimap!", then proceeded to destroy the dropship. I was so shocked, the way he got so furious with himself just because he missed a dropship appearing on the minimap for the first time, and I realized this is how he managed to achieve all the things he did.

(P)Bisu talks Jaedong + Show Spoiler [Translation by Letmelose] +
I played versus Jaedong on Fish server on this map, it was on Circuit Breaker, and I won the first three matches. I thought to myself, yup, playing versus zerg is easy. I sensed he played pretty good, but still, I felt it was easy. In one of those games, Jaedong tried an all-in, so I said to myself "I guess he's resorting to cheese, since he cannot beat me", and proceeded to play ten standard games in a row, all of which I lost convincingly. That's Jaedong. You cannot beat Jaedong during practice.

Was this perhaps one of the games in the series Bisu mentions? Maybe, maybe not but we're going to enjoy the game regardless - because it's pretty. The JD replay pack provided by Dsaqwe is available here. There are only 2 games against Bisu and the pack is well organized so you should have no trouble finding them.

Here we go!
+ Show Spoiler [Battle Report] +
Bisu vs Jaedong on (Wiki)Circuit Breaker

The game begins with your standard economic FFE and 12 hatch openings. In case I didn't mention this yet, I'll be hiding the replay progress bar behind random beautiful and talented Korean women, with somewhat appropriate expressions.

Bisu's offering is accepted, however Jaedong is not fooled easily. Calculating the position of the scouting probe and the timing of this probe's entrance on the ramp, he deduces it couldn't be the one he's seen seconds ago.

He finds the probe's little pervert brother crouching behind the natural gas and promptly deals with the cannon rush. One drone and three zerglings are traded and one sunken is forced while Bisu's expansion is signicifantly delayed.

Worth it? I doubt so but you be the judge. I don't know shit about PvZ.

Bisu sends out another probe and no matter how hard we fight it, the Protoss deep inside us wishes for the probe to cannon rush this base as well.

But it's JD's turn to be a little dirty. Only 2 probes die and not too much mining time is denied but scouting is secured for the next 3 minutes. Jaedong sees continuous corsair production which will soon cost him a couple of overlords.

The +1/speed zealot timing is coming soon as Jaedong does the zerg build where they get a spire for scourge and build a lot of (5) hatcheries. He adds a 4th base to that and only then morphs his second extractor and hydra den.

+ Show Spoiler +
This came down to millimeters but Bisu's turned out to be just a touch bigger.

The +1/speed is finishing and zealots arrive but Jaedong is on top of everything. Bisu trades 2 zealots for a single zergling - not quite the damage he was probably hoping to deal.

Bisu continues sair production, researches +1 air weapons and techs up to templar archives, adding 2 gateways as even I would expect. He orders his Zealot squadron to go check the other base, gets himself some more ling kills and a few drones and even forces 2 zealots past the drone drill.

Apparently minerals are highly explosive.

Jaedong is more concerned with his incoming imbalance as he's comfortably droning and already reaching hive tech with 8 hatcheries, +1 carapace and three evo chambers about to get busy. Bisu responds by adding 2 more gateways and hopes to claim the mineral-only (something JD is okay with) and quickly follow up with the 12 o'clock base (something JD isn't okay with).

Bisu's thoughts on this: WHATEVER I'M SO OVER THIS NEXUS.

With his 3rd up and running, the probe snipe should cause anything but a big delay for Bisu but the psychological damage is done and Jaedong gains himself another 30 seconds of advantage.

+2 finishes and Bisu moves out again, this time with two archons in the mix. Jaedong awaits him with some timings of his own and upon seeing these Bisu immediately turns away and much like the first poke, follows up by poking at JD's 3rd, meanwhile grabbing a couple of ovies and scourge with his restless corsairs.

This time around, JD's 3rd doesn't seem to be to too welcoming either and Bisu is content with keeping his distance.

The Dong isn't.

This was closer than what the caption looks like. The Dong is scary as hell.

But you don't want to mess with Bisu either. With a supply lead of 40 he's grabbing air trophies left and right, getting well over 20 kills in total already.

Babysitting corsairs throughout the game is perhaps one of Brood War's greatest challenges. They're fast, deadly but very fragile.

Just keeping track of Bisu's corsairs is a demanding task for the unsuspecting observer. He always takes care to keep them busy. If you add a DT/storm drop into the mix, duelling Bisu really must feel like playing against two very skilled players.
But if there ever was someone to challenge that, it would be Jaedong. Still on 8 hatcheries with 4, now fully saturated, bases, pumping upgrades, Jaedong hasn't made a single mistake so far. As Bisu finally claims his 4th and gets ready to pump some goons, JD sets up to take his 5th as the mineral-only.

Bisu's poke does nothing except giving Jaedong another slight edge.

Just like two very skilled players, Bisu uses his strong map presence to pay JD's 3rd another visit, this time coming through the back door.

He only gets 6 drones, but the threat of the drop remains as he parks the shuttle and retracts other forces expecting Jaedong to pay a visit to the close 12 o'clock.

Jaedong knows this too well and while chasing after the plagued zealot force, he sneaks in a hydra-lurk group to intercept the tactical retreat almost pulling off a complete surround, but Bisu barely gets out.

Jaedong takes the first official measuring contest quite decisively.

But only seconds later, storm arrives to ruin the party.

No wait, that's here..

Okay maybe here too, but not before Jaedong makes the best out of the engagement!

Sensing a weakness that is partly caused by the earlier lurker reinforcements blocking a group of zealots at the 12 o'clock from joining the main army, Jaedong engages the Protoss forces head on once again.

This ends up in a fairly even trade, which would generally favor Jaedong as the Zerg but by holding this force off, Bisu also managed to secure his 5th base at the 3 o'clock, evening up the base count which is a good sign in PvZ and certainly a great sign in PvJ.

Jaedong did manage to kill all of the high templars in the engagement though which is undoubtedly something you want to be doing if you ever get to play Bisu.

Once you taste the protoss icecream flavor there is no turning back.

While the battle is in full progress, Bisu deflects a geurilla hydra force attack on the 12 o'clock.

And shortly after gets his hands on some more overlords.

I merely mentions this because I believe Bisu's unbelievable multitasking is really why he's even able to keep up with Jaedong's flawless execution.

And another potentially deadly hit deflected by sniping the defiler.

Even on bases and maxing out, it's Bisu's turn now as he chases JD's army away. He then pokes into JD's 5th base where he already has a DT trying to do some damage. Meanwhile, Bisu also attempts to claim his 6th base at the 5 o'clock but JD is having none of that.

He deals with the DT harass promptly, shuts down the expand attempts and with clever positioning he scares Bisu's army away and even weakens it with the money plague.

Soon after, he takes advantage of this small victory and faint Protoss map presence to launch an assault on the 12 o'clock base.

Bisu's defences delay him for just a few seconds but JD hesitates, giving Bisu just enough time to rally in his reinforcements as well as his main army.

Bisu slaughters this force as it's leaving but a single lurker under dark swarm in range of the nexus survives. Bisu moves out again to re-assert his map presence leaving but a few units to ensure 12 o'clock's safety.

A solid plan ruined by a few cracklings that manage to sneak past the defences.

With the cannons still focusing the lurker and storms leaving 2 cracklings alive, Bisu gets some food for thought. To his credit, he is at the same time also dealing with ling forces at the 5 o'clock to try and secure the main base one more time.
AND then there's this.

JD meanwhile casually claims another base at the 6 o'clock. Something Bisu is strongly opposed to. He sends his entire army down to finally clear out the ling forces denying his expansion attempts. He then attacks JD's base full on...

When did I last mention the corsairs btw.? It is of course understood that these are still active, getting close to some 40 kills total. Anyway, Bisu's army does considerable damage here, spending a lot of great storms but eventually JD decides the effort was not nearly enough.

All the same, Bisu finally gets up the 4 o'clock base. He hasn't however been mining from the 12 o'clock since the disastrous lurker-ling visit. He is now 20 supply short of the zerg and if I were one of his probes (we all have our fantasies) I'd be shitting my probe pants like never before.

There is no resistance at the 4 o'clock. The 12 o'clock assault at the same time is deflected, but Jaedong is getting up new bases to make up for the fast mining and he has finally reduced the corsair numbers to minimum.

He is now free to once again use just a few scourge to glide in the enemy territory, occasionally grabbing a careless observer.

On two operating bases vs JD's five, Bisu adds 4 reavers to his army mix and marches across the map. JD is actually soon to be on 3 working bases only, but he is maxed out and does have a decent bank. As crippled as Bisu looks, he's not out of this game yet if he plays a perfect game. He is once again attempting to claim 5 o'clock main.

He pokes at JD's mineral only but decides to back out and heads towards 12 o'clock showing interest in the nearby mineral only as well.

Bisu's control is excellent but the decision to push in might turn out to be fatal.

Both shuttles get scourged but the four reavers are still alive, Bisu still has a healthy force up front and over 7 storms to his name. One stealth bunnylurker takes a detour and crawls right up to the clueless reavers! To get powned by 4 scarabs without doing anything.

The storm is strong with the Bisu.

He does it! He cleans up... but at what cost?

Before Bisu can even begin to celebrate, another wave of the same Zerg shit is right at his face.

The power of Swarm at its finest.

There's no way Bisu is getting a new base now. The 5 o'clock has been ambushed as well.

The final march, a tribute to the Protoss imbalance getting kicked in the nuts by the ZergDong.

The last archon falls, all that's left are two very sad observers. Sad, but not lonely.

While this game is over, they know Bisu lives on and they with him, forever a part of his legacy.

Anyway as I said there's one more Bisu vs JD rep in the pack, I wonder what that one looks like. Maybe someone else do a BR?

JD's management is so good wtf. I think Bisu was kinda screwed when he couldn't defend the 12 and 4 o'clock bases simultaneously and of course playguuu! It really killed Bisu in this game.

When I watch Bisu playing, I see an artist quickly sketch up Mona Lisa in minimum amount of strokes.

When I see JD, its pure fury at work.

If I learn Japanese instead of Korean will I still be able to game Korean girls?

IU knows and sings in Japanese as well, so you're okay. I'm going the safe way by learning both..

theres no way this was one of the games bisu had in mind when talking about jaedong. he didnt know who the player was until much later after a teammate told bisu it was jaedongs smurf.
jd123231121
^ i seriously doubt he wouldnt have considered jaedong despite wondering whether if the zerg was zero, when the first 2 letters are jd.
