Great blog as always.

I thought for you fans, I'd share this that tree.hugger found. It puts things into perspective and I'd like to think with FLUFFs thoughts on how all the players have different styles and ideas, we're doing a good job at putting the thoughts together into a more similar vision and get as much out of everything as possible.

Why dont you ban people that post things this stupid?

Edit: Oh I almost forgot to thank Fluff for the blog update. It seems like you're overly harsh on yourself, make dota fun and the rest will come.

What's so stupid about it? I think it brilliantly shows the styles of three distinctive teams. I think it is very interesting that Liquid have such high all around stats, but then have even less tower damage than a team like DK which prefers a slow paced early game. I've noticed that a problem Liquid tends to have when they aren't overwhelming their enemy is they don't take objectives like other teams do. Too many times I've seen them win fights (Granted some of them are by razor thin margins) and not get a tower, Roshan, or even just a big ancient stack or aggressive wards from it. I wouldn't even go so far as to call it bad trades, just slow progress on map objectives.

I would love to know what context those graphs came from, as in how many games and which tournaments.
What does it matter how I loose it?

He's a poker player who is a friend of Nazgul's, I believe (someone can correct me if I'm wrong)

And good luck to TL, I believe in you guys. Get as much practice as you can with the rest of your bootcamp and go stomp TI3!

Yeah I always hear about people tabbing out during draft when i hear about TL / Dota 2.

Does dota 2 draft take a long time or something? I never see this happen in a game of LoL / around LoL's pro scene.

(Obligatory lol sucks dota2 epic for you to avoid flame)

It does scream a lack of dedication and just sounds really shitty. Honestly if i was trying to practice with a team and asking advice only to get nothing in return because they're tabbed out on spotify.

I would tell them to get the fuck out.

It's not like that. I've explained in the past how drafts are meant to be a singular vision. One of the very first blogs after TI2 was about how "too many cooks spoil the broth". It's not a lack of dedication, rather focusing on someone's vision. A lot of teams in the scene do this, in fact. Their leaders draft and take very little input or only when they ask for it. It's an old model of how to draft and how to be a captain, but I've tried several other methods. My point is that, as a person, I tend to stress out and having extra help from TC is a great thing.

Not every player in every team is completely involved in the drafts, no matter how it may look. In my experience, I've seen teams who completely mute their teammates to shut out outside influences. Inversely, I've seen captains completely bend over to the will of their teammates and completely ruin their drafts. There is a sweet spot and it's all case-by-case dependent.

I suppose so, but when you need advice you should get it and the way to give the best advice on a current situation is to pay attention to the draft. You've stated that you asked for advice before only to get stub answers from tabbed / semi-afk people.

Thats a level of dedication you need IMO, sure your leader wants you to speak when spoken to during drafts and its not often your spoken to, that doesnt give you the right to just not give a f**k because when he actually needs input, you're not there.

In fact im pretty sure you could benefit from them actually observing draft and speaking to you about things they would have done / things u can do better after the games. Its how teams improve as a whole.

*I dont follow dota 2 Im not mindlessly bashing TL's players or its mannerism's as i have no clue, im discussing a point FLUFF has brought up a few times in his blogs generally.

Because even if u dont follow Doto. U follow FLUFF.

XBOCT and Dendi afk during drafts too if i'm not mistaken, not sure about Funn1k. I believe Kuroky does pay a lot of attention and ofcourse Puppey does the entire draft.

I will be cheering my ass off for you guys during TI3.

Slumps happen, it's part of normal team dynamics, I'm just glad by the sounds of it you hit the rough patch before TI3. LETS DO THIS

I've been trying to keep up with as much Liquid'Dota as possible. One thing that's stood out since the patch has been the creative and adventurous drafts. I love the experimentation, especially when it works out beautifully, like TC's Razor or the support Naga. And of course, I love the blog and being able to peek in on your knights. Good luck with the bootcamp, and I'll be wearing my Team Liquid pin every day until the end of TI3!!!

This is so nice and reassuring to read
I really do hope you find your stride!
Staying sharp and focused and on your game when you've done something for a seemingly long time, is definitely hard, but not impossible. And thoroughly rewarding

Im so glad I made it out to DH this summer, you're all such nice guys, and you are crazy good at what you do, but its not easy being a Liquid fan you know, sometimes it can be horribly heartbreaking :D
But I have faith in you guys
Good luck and above all, have fun

Korok is aggressive and unrelenting in pressure. He also believes in synergy and a symphony of spells to shut down the enemy team.

TC is a conservative who would prefer to take the farm game. He believes in logic, statistics and has a scientific approach to Dota.

I am an impulsive and romantic player. I believe in extremity, execution and chaos.

now i wonder what a person ixmike is

Introspection and reflecting on on problems can be dangerous. Often times we brainstorm and think of what the problems are and feel the need to identify a problem. Sometimes we come up with ideas or analyses that fit and seem to reflect what the problems are and from these ideas we can come up with ways of solving the problems we have. Unfortunately, our analyses (while apparently fitting or true to the situation) may not be accurate, they don't get at the crux of the problem. "Overthinking" if you will.

The problems you describe are incredibly difficult to solve (they deal with social dynamics of the team, expectations, confidence etc) They are very hard to target and solve. I feel it would be better to aim for clear improvement instead of eliminating problems. They are basically the same thing, but they take different approaches. I hope you sort of understand what i'm getting at. I tried my best to express myself but its' not very clear.

Anyway GL fluff and TL for ti3. This is just my opinion, take everything with a pinch of salt

Best of luck Liquid. I'll be cheering for you all the same for Ti3! Great to hear the update, often great teams are a mixture of individuals but they become forged into one entity. Good luck!
