So I decided to buy a competitor ticket, and even though I didn't make an upset as I hoped to, I still had a great time.
The MLG Experience includes: Having conversations with Hwanni and learning how he is able to beat White-ra in drinking games and finding stephano sleeping on the ground of a Chinese airport, learning how much of a bro all the players actually are, such as Grubby, Puck, Naniwer, incontrol, cat- all of root players, dem- fuck it all the players were nice.
You can also feel like a god among men when you play and having a large group of people squeezing in to watch you play, even if you aren't a well known player.
You will also learn that on Day 1 you cannot enter the building if you leave it before 2 PM if you already got your wristband, but if you haven't you can go in and out whenever, but then you'll realize all the MLG officials are complete bros and will help you out and let you go back in.
You can take up the habit of smoking, which increases the possibility of striking up conversations with random people by 300%.
You'll learn that Call of Duty actually isn't a dead game, League people all have at least some Apparel for their game, and that Starcraft bros are the best.
You'll learn that Flozain and Moonbee are official and that those are the only 2 girl players there, and that they are taken ;_;
You'll learn that Rotterdam cannot pronounce "Nightshade" and instead replaces it with "Nightshift"
You'll learn to NOT FORGET YOUR AUTHENTICATOR LOLOLOL
You'll also learn that there are some really weird people that harass djwheat when they are forcefully removed from the venue after harassing women. I still don't know if wheat was ever able to send his tweet.
You'll learn it's a cutthroat world in the warm up session trying to snag a computer.
You'll learn by heart your game settings after having to switch them 30 times on different computers, and that some people like to switch right mouse button and left mouse button.
You'll find out nothing makes Axeltoss more infuriated than a tweet not sending, and that he's actually a descendant of Goliath.
You get to meet the people you hated most, and become friends.
You'll realize 3 hours in that the only fluids able to be drank is Dr. Pepper, the only food are flips, and that Booth Girls get bored and will run the Dr. Pepper container around so you cant get to it.
And you'll also figure out that if you shut down your nerves completely and treat a pro like any other player you can beat them, as long as you remember to saturate your gasses so you dont die to 2 base roach spam.
You'll learn how embarrassing it is to forget gasses in front of 10k people.
You'll have a great time with the "Complete MLG experience" (as long as spectators stop trying to bunch up in the player pit)
Also to that girl behind me that I asked to be a little quieter when I played because I didn't want to hear something I may have messed, I wasn't mad or angry, please don't be sad

This deserves more attention I think. Great insight and a positive one, I enjoyed reading it a lot !
Also, quite a ballsy move to buy a competitor ticket. Kudos to you.

Dunno how much the competitor tickets cost, but aren't you up for the next one ? With less nerves issue, who knows...

I wasn't nervous, I don't get nervous at tournaments, I just treat the game as a ladder game and do my best as I normally would I simply made a bronze league mistake
Next even is in november though, in Columbus, so unless I have a team in 4 months that will send me I sure won't be going due to my lack of funds.
It was nice seeing the skill gap between us so close though, sure game 2 he raped me due to him doing his own playstyle that's weird to beat but, I felt really close to him game 1, and that was an awesome feeling that made the event worth it to be honest.

Oh ok, nevermind then. And yeah, I can imagine the feeling, although probably barely. Money spent on experiences like that is always worth it imo.

nice to see that you had fun!
