It's pretty clear I like to think. It asks if you identify as female. Not if you identify as male or female. To those who are clueless won't catch it, but those who aren't comfortable identifying as either/or can just choose no.

If you haven't seen it, check out this /r/starcraft survey that someone conducted on women in eSports. It surveyed both men and women, but the results and data might be of interest!

Great survey and some very interesting stuff here

Any insight please? I asked because on the off chance someone gave this survey to a man, I would then know. All the information was dumped into a google spreadsheet. Heck, if it wasn't for someone doing Follow Friday, I wouldn't have found @MLG_Molly and her survey. I just hope next time there's more so we can see a more accurate consensus. GoSC2 has 400-500 women who have once had an interest in SC2 since release. Lets assume 1/10 still play, that's 40. You'd be incredibly shocked at the drop out rate for women in the SC2 community. I founded that group a long time ago. I don't have the stats but I can promise you that the majority of them quit out soon after starting.
I can't help beg the differ. Many seem to be active still. Sure, some of them probably stopped playing. But I find new girls all the time; like every week I follow another female or two in the community who I didn't know existed. Including you. So wouldn't that balance out those who have left? And if you are one of the founders, then why didn't you post this in the group? I've never heard of you. Something seems off. There has to be over 40 women who play Starcraft. Just sayin. The more the merrier when it comes to conducting a survey like this. Should've waited until you found additional females so your data could've been more conclusive, IMO.

Interesting that there are more positive than negative responses to the final question.

It is kind a clear, but when you get a no answer the message can be quite different. I was confused because answering no leads to at least 2 possible scenarios, the respondent is a trans man, who was assigned female at birth, but identifies as male, and their gender being a man or other, and the second scenario where someone interprets the question much like babytoss did, who is gender non-conforming, and while being assigned female at birth, they choose to not to identify as female and/or as a women. That's why I was curious, because those 2 scenarios are quite different, and have different implications. I didn't want to out any respondents, but your explanation has been very enlightening, so thank you babytoss.

This was an image of her following me on twitter before she asked me to take it down
If you mean in relation to Girls of Starcraft, it's probably because I founded it back in ~2009(I think) with a Brood War friend. When SC2 came out, things changed a lot in the group. I abandoned the group when it went horrifically down hill(You ever put that many girls together & try to keep things civil?) & turned into a way for a lot of girls I won't name to try & get attention.

I can get more links but what's the point? The group completely changed/died from what it was when I ran things, so I don't care anymore. I don't do things(mostly. lol) for attention, so I'm not going to cause a rouse about anything in regards to the group. I didn't run it to be famous & I don't plan on using it to make a name for myself. Despite what some people will want you to think I actually play this game for me & you probably haven't heard of me because I don't play or do things to be famous.
Either way, I like to think I'm good friends with the current leader & I plan on keeping it that way. More power to her with whatever she decides to do with the group! and that's all I'm going to ever say about GoSC on TL as it's very obvious people like to take things the wrong way.
I think it's very weird that you'd have your boyfriend threaten to post pictures of me on the internet if I don't take down the proof you followed me up until now. I mean I don't care if he does. There's already a lot of pics of me on the internet. It's just very weird. If you just asked like a normal person I would have done it. It's no big deal. o.0

I also found that interesting because the majority of the people that I ASKED to do the survey are either somewhat influential women in the community or people who you know aren't tee hee gurl gamurrrrs, so you can take what they say to heart.
We already know what the majority of the tee hee gurl gamurs would say. The whole point of the survey was to see what the women who have been around for a while think on how everything has been lately.
When we get back the male-player results(I'll probably ask GM/High Master players) what they think of everything, if it's positive as well hopefully we can get more women confident enough to start streaming & join some teams.

At least 50-100 of my followers are females who play or watch sc2. There's also a Girls of Starcraft facebook group with 400+ members. So there's a lot more out there who could've participated but just didn't know about it. And if you are one of the founders, then why didn't you post this in the group? I've never heard of you. Something seems off. You follow me on twitter, so you've obviously heard of me somewhere. If you mean in relation to Girls of Starcraft, it's probably because I founded it back in ~2009 (I think) with a Brood War friend. When SC2 came out, things changed a lot in the group. I abandoned the group when it went horrifically down hill (You ever put that many girls together & try to keep things civil?) & turned into a way for a lot of girls I won't name to try & get attention. http://www.nationalesl.com/us/sc2/forum/2880/27931/932347/I can get more links but what's the point? The group completely changed/died from what it was when I ran things, so I don't care anymore. I don't do things (mostly. lol) for attention, so I'm not going to cause a rouse about anything in regards to the group. Look. I can't believe I'm getting involved in this - She heard of you at the same time she heard of your survey. ....Not that it matters.... lol You aren't tough or cool posting a pic of her as 'evidence' of some *prior knowledge of your identity*.. Seriously, who do you think you are, this infamous person that has to defend herself. What are you so defensive about anyway? This is cheap. I guarantee nobody cares about your involvement in your girls group, or your friendship with them, or lack thereof ect. It's supposed to be about a survey and getting data for the survey. but since you seem like an odd broad.. let me stoop to your level. Here from your twitter: That's a lot of medication.. No wonder you got all worked up.. User was banned for this post. lol Didn't think that was temp ban worthy. Yeah that kid was pretty stupid, lol
No I totally deserved it for defending myself in my own blog. -.- Oh well lol
Starting on next one now for mens including GM/Former GM Players

There's no gender in game. Protoss, Zerg and Terran. Thats what I am playing (against). If there's a girl who can match me, I'm happy to play with her and call her gamer. If there's a girl who playes for fun and does it because she enjoys the game, I'll happily call her gamer. If she wants to improve, same story.
Obviously there are attention whores, but that isn't a thing only females do. There are also a ton of male attention whores so I really don't see a point. The only difference is, female attention whores get more viewers because they got boobs and eSports is male-dominated. I really don't get why anyone would watch a stream and hate all the time. If you don't enjoy watching a girl play , simply don't watch. No one does force you to check out the girls of esports. Personally I can say that I barely watch streams at all and I've not seen many females stream.
I did watch Flo once, found it uninteresting and I think I checked out msspyte(?) and didn't think she was bad, but Zerg so I don't have interest in it. And to the kind person who did open this blog:
I personally just see this as contributing / informing the Starcraft 2 community, which I think is a good thing. Thanks for the good read.
