Dear God. Jimmy Hendrix. His voice is like the presense of God on Earth. RIP and wellplayed, sir. Well played.

Hi,
Some of the comments are very upsetting, but I can take criticism. I bought an APOGEE ONE microphone. I guess I will return that and just work on getting on stage after practicing more.

That's not how you respond in the hip-hop industry. You just go "Fuck all the haters, I'm gettin' paid off rap." and then quietly take the criticism to heart and make adjustments. Also, you have to not let others tell you what to do, so don't follow this advice.

It's very hard to post your music online, it makes you vulnerable when people give you negative comments, it's important not to take it personally or change your belief of how capable you are based on other's comments. My advice: is to rap with more emotion.

Yeah...for the price of that apogee you could a lot more bang for your buck...
I wouldn't work on getting on stage first and selling all your recording because you get some negative feed, I mean sorry but listen to what you did and compare it to a successful rapper, did you honestly think you stacked up? You just need to actively work on improving, work on recording techniques, writing techniques etc.

(Hopefully) Constructive criticism: Try doing a cover of a song you enjoy. Perform it as closely to the source material as possible - emphasize words they emphasize, match their rhythm/tone, etc...The goal should be an exact replica of their song in your voice.
Your version will either be, (A) not particularly great or (B) a decent cover. It doesn't matter either way as the goal is simply to understand how the best are doing what they do.
You don't have to release it or anything, it's just important that you listen to the difference between your lyrics/delivery and theirs. The goal is to understand what makes a song work/develop an ear for quality. Then you can work on closing the gap.
I come from visual art (drawing/3D/other shit). In visual art there are either people that understand what makes something look nice or people that CAN'T physically tell the difference between good and bad art. It's a trait that is developed through research/practice/constant repetition. Some people never do understand the difference between quality and mediocre work and feel perfectly content to release things/stop working on things that are far from their potential. They have not developed an eye for good art and therefore their art is not good. The same can be applied to music (or any other creative field).
TL/DR: Understand what makes good rappers sound good and focus on doing that.
Edit: Also, unless your song is on the radio don't charge people to hear it/download it. The internet is bananas powerful but you lose all of that if people have to pay, especially if it's something they aren't sure about/wouldn't otherwise purchase. Ideally I assume you would want a large amount of people to hear it which won't happen if everyone has to shell out $7 to download. Sure you could maaaaybe make like $50 from people willing to buy it, but then 99% of the rest of the people that hear it who can't be fucked to download it will instantly forget about you.

Remember, you're already miles ahead of so many people, many don't even have the balls to try (my self included =) )
so massive props.

Thanks PanN A lot of positive words here. I did what the other guy said and said fuck the haters, but took all the advice to heart secretly. I will make the adjustment. I am tired of being afraid cause of social anxiety so I did this. I will keep going and freeflowing. Im not sure if I should make all my downloads free. Wouldnt be awkward to go from free downloads for like 5 albums to paid albums later? What would make the transition, when my fanbase is huge?
