Now that the easy bit was done, I had to scope out a route to run, as it happens the college where I study has a fairly short trail up a small hill which gives a nice view and good exercise. The start was fairly tough since been awhile since I ran so often and it hurt but I went on. Between 2/3 days depending on the weather and my mood. Sadly some water from a nearby pipe or something funnelled onto this path and slowly but surely created a marsh ending my once really good path.
And so I lost a lot of motivation and stopped running for like 4/5 weeks. Then motivation came in the form of my brother who has been running for awhile. He was going for an event (running) and wanted me to tag along so can drive him back. So the week before I scouted a new path (much longer) and ran twice that week. Felt really good but was I in for shock on race day. I pitch up (not to run and damn early in the morning) and see all those people kitted up and ready to roll. Made me feel bad but really motivated to actually run more often and with consistency.
And so I began, ran when was sick with fever (half route only), ran in the cold and kinda hot weather.
May seem long but only about 2 weeks. Still have to fight myself to go out and do it but running is a really awesome sport for me.
Why? You may be inclined to ask. Well since I don't listen to podcasts or music I tend to have a nice 20minutes or more to just think and figure things out.
Started with 4km's trying to be punctual and run more of the route and less walking sessions (massive hill on this route).
Thanks for reading this rant and enjoy your weekend.
