Seriously major props to blizzard on the improvements they did to hots multiplayer. I never had this much fun in sc2 until hots. I had fun in wol sure, but I never had as much fun as I am having in hots right now for multiple reasons.
1. Zerg isn't as bad as some zergs say they are. To expand on this voidray/templar isn't that hard to fight unless you go roach/hydra then yeah it's impossible.
2. The map pool is actually good. Seriously the only maps I don't like are newkirk city and korhal compound, veto'd those and I love the rest of the map pool. The thing about wol that I think really made it hard to have fun was the fact that not only was balance awful, but the map pool was awful. By the time we started getting good maps the way you played as a zerg was just shitty. Turtle, bl/corr/infestor. No fun.
Where in wol it was rare for me to play more then 2 hours, in hots I have been playing 5-6 hours since beta almost every day. I would play more but alas work/school don't let me play more  . This is something I forgot what it was like to want to just mass play, this is how I remember playing broodwar a ton non stop. Having this feeling again is really nice.
In hots I actually somewhat enjoy zvp as it's not both sides turtle, yes toss has best late game army, but I think it's possible to prevent it and what not as long as you don't go roach/hydra anyway.
zvt is a lot of fun and I feel invincible in it right now as I just dont' lose zvt anymore like I did in beta  . My games in general feel a lot more fun to play and definitely have a lot more epicness to them then wol ever had for me.
There were some really good games in wol, but I feel hots will produce even more as long as blizzard doesn't allow stupid boring things like bl/corr/infestor to remain as long as it did in wol. If there ever is an equivalent in hots (which is sky toss) I hope they don't take so long to nerf it.
In short really enjoying hots, multiplayer imo is way more fun then wol ever was and as long as blizzard keeps on top of it I don't see myself getting bored like I was throughout most of wol whether it was due to frusteration/balance/bad maps/etc. If blizzard can keep rotating map pool and all that I can see hots being way more entertaining for players and viewers alike.

100% echoing this feeling. Don't know how much part it is because they drove WoL to shit and how much because they struck home with HotS, but in a long time I actually get really excited to the thought of playing the game.

I agree with you. I thought if switching race because zerg sucks, but then I discovered that zerg might have completely new playstyle, which fits me a bit better then infestor/BL combo turtle.

In general, HotS is a great addition, though I think that the shit that the community went through in WoL helped blizzard change things for HotS, considering if WoL didn't have anything to improve I think HotS would have been the same old thing.

I don't even think sky toss will be as problematic as BL/Infestor even if is equally as strong. But yeah, Hots is just wonderful

ah, i haven't been able to watch you play hots after release yet. just caught one zvt today before you stopped streaming (on daybreak, was pretty good). i always start watching when you are about to stop streaming. damned timezones.
i am looking forward to watching a jolly blade as long as it lasts, but i hope that by the time i start raging you will be frustrated as well so i can go to your stream and watch you struggle with me.
edit: just like i did in wol (protoss...).

Skytoss won't as it involves transitioning, BL/infestor revolved around already common (perhaps even necessary) Zerg units (Infestor/Corrupter) which made it far easier to transition.
I'm glad to see you're back into it Blade, comforting news for sure, I personally haven't been able to get on too much since launch but I did play a bit of beta.
Also I'm happy to see someone write positive comments about the expansion as too many people were giving it far too much shit unnecessarily.

I have been watching your stream and you are one of the best I have seen at dealing with this.Most zerg have been doing the roach/hydra and then they transition to BM and whining. I really like your use of the new units to deal with their army.

hehe well I used to do that in the beta (pretty early on) but instead of still going roach/hydra and whining I started messing with swarmhosts and good lord it took me a week of losing zvp before something clicked and my sh usage was imba. Ever since then my zvp win rate has been 60% + and I keep figuring out ways to make my build better and stronger.
The late game unit composition that toss loves I have also figured out how to fight and actually win a lot which is awesome, I rarely lose in macro zvp's now of days which is nice .
But yeah it is frustrating as me to watch zerg players streams who go roach/hydra still and then lose to the deathball. Pisses me off because I understand the frustration but they need to stop going roach/hydra. Hopefully soon other zergs realize how strong sh's are
