I had a PDF with fillable forms that i used as character sheets, and the forms were filled. Then i wanted to redact it. So i tried to just use black boxes. Sadly you can only put black boxes BEHIND fillable forms, not in front of them. But it told me about it's redaction tools. Which once again don't work in fillable forms/only redact ALL of one form, but only if the form is not too small and completely full, if that is the case you can not click it and censor it at all. Oh, but of course i couldn't work on the PDF i had directly, because it is "protected" according to Acrobat. None of the other programs i tried had that problem. So i had to make a copy. Then, since i couldn't work on the fillable forms, i had to flatten the thing to remove the forms. This broke the redaction tools with a very useful error message (something went wrong (16)), googling that told me that others also have the problem, but noone knows what it means. However, there was a workaround. You have to print the file as a PDF, and then open THAT pdf again and work with that (Of course in this process you lose a lot of quality, but whatever, at this point i was frustrated enough to not give a fuck) This allowed me to finally redact some of the content. Of course now you no longer have fillable forms on the character sheets, and they look kind of shit due to all of the saving, flattening and printing done to them. So on to the next problem. In the top right was a giant FATE Core logo. I wanted a picture instead. So i used a white rectangle to cover up the logo, and put a picture on top of that. Except.....the rectangle was always in the front. Now, you would assume that there is a tool like in photoshop that allows you to put something in front/in the back. Yes, there is. It is hard to find. It does not allow you to put something "to the front" or anything like that, nono. There is a list of ALL THE ELEMENTS IN THE FUCKING PDF. You have to find the one you are looking for, and move it up and down in the priority list. Oh, of course down is higher priority. With one small caveat: Apparently rectangles are always in the front. I found no way to put the rectangle behind the picture. So what i did was save a white page in paint, import that as a picture into the pdf, move it in front of the thingy, and put the other picture in front of it. The only thing that actually worked like expected was adding another page in front of it. I highly doubt i will ever try to edit a PDF again. If i am ever in that situation, i am probably better of completely rewriting the whole thing in OO and just saving it as a PDF. I mean, as an endresult i have something that looks worse and is worse then if i had just done the whole process in paint. Maybe i am just getting old and these new programs need to get off my lawn. | ||

And yes, in retrospect i should have made everything in OO from the start. Sadly the Character sheets and other stuff i found was already a PDF beforehands, and i didn't know just how incredibly SHIT pdf editors in general are. I don't even understand why. Adobe Acrobat is basically an incredibly shit bastard child of OO, lacking basic functionalities, making everything way more complicated then it needs to be, completely unintuitive, and generally a pain in the arse to deal with, with the only advantage being that it can open PDFs without breaking them. I don't get why you can't just take something like OO, and put in "also works on PDFs". Pdfs are basically text and images formatted onto a page, i don't get why it should be so hard to actually work on and change that text and those images. OO can already work on text and images, how is the text and the images in PDFs so much different that you need a completely different program, and noone is capable of making one that actually works? But it doesn't matter now, i am finally done, and i have learned to never try to edit a PDF ever again. Ever. Literally just doing the whole thing from scratch in OO is faster. | ||

The complaints were legitimate and things that annoyed me a bit, but at no point was i really annoyed or angry, it was more along the lines of "this is really bad, but i am still having fun by complaining about how bad it is" I sound a lot different when i am really angry or annoyed. Depending on the level of annoyance i tend to get quieter and try to get away from it as fast as possible, and if i am really angry i think i start screaming obscenities, though it has been quite a while since i was at that point, so i am not 100% certain what happens if i am really angry, and not just annoyed halfangry which tends to happen a lot more. | ||

Jalazar Gerridup, aging Twi'Lek media personality. You might know me from my late night holo show "Gerridup at night" ~25 years ago (Don't you remember the slogan? "It's embarassing if you can't Gerridup at night!"), or the scandal when my gay bdsm orgy sex tape got leaked around the same time (Hey, that's what it takes to stay relevant after the Jabba the Hutt sextape leak earlier that same fall) However, that was a long time ago, and because of some drug issues, the fact that i was barely sober at all, a few problems with talk show guests (It is comepletely reasonable to invite hookers into my talkshow 12 times in a row to talk about my genitals ("Gerridup can get it up!"), has a nice ring to it, doesn't it?), my show got cancelled, and my money had (and still has) this tendency to transmute into spice, alcohol or hookers for inexplicable reasons. So now i am living in a small, dirty one-room apartment somewhere on this shitty moon. I also might have a few debts related to this weird money transmutation problem i have. Nothing major, i am pretty sure Booka the Hutt has completely forgotten about it by this point. I am working part-time in third-rate sleazy bars trying to gain some money or free drinks off of my long forgotten fame. | ||

A horizontally divided spherical chassis mounted over a semi-spherical repulser lift, symmetrical green plates swoop from the back of the droid to form the brow, ending above the middle of the appendage sockets where there are spherical joints for the arms. A second set of plates continues from the inner bottom of the wide doughy eyes to attach at the bottom of the arm socket, forming a slight gap between the repulser lift and the chassis. The mouth, or translator unit, is a blunted trapezoid set just above the very bottom of the chassis, before it meets the repulser lift. The upper arms are basically thin metal rectangles, while the hands and forearms are disturbingly human. Although unsuccessful in capturing the ship in tact as a consequence of one of the raiders having an itchy trigger finger, SaR-u04 survived(of course)! With the bandits distracted with being almost blown up, they were unable to salvage the wreckage and so just left that shit there. BUT LO! scavengers found the drifting robot, UNHARMED, with debris clinging to its static body. The scavengers can be the party or i can just say that i was sold to one of the party, unless the GM has a different idea for how that could happen. | ||

I doubt that Gerridup could afford a droid and wouldn't have already sold it if he had one. Maybe one of the others is more respectable? | ||
