I hadn't really played her much since launch to be honest, and for some reason 2 weeks ago after playing some PTR I lost all interest in farming on live until next patch so decided to progress my HC Monk some. ( my fail SC history: + Show Spoiler +
I had previously leveled my softcore Monk to 60 as my "main" when D3 launched. Back when my friends used to still play, I had a Wizard and Barb leveling parallel with different groups. Eventually they all quit and I leveled a DH and WD to 60 just to complete the set.
So time to ramble on about the differences I noticed between my two Monks. The first time around, I had no clue what skills or gear was ideal, and never used Thunderclap until 60. I was big into Deadly Reach and Crippling Wave back in the day. I also didn't see the point to Sweeping Wind due to the high cost and the fact it kept dropping. So instead I used Lashing Tail Kick, Mystic Ally, and Seven Sided Strike for the immunity. Some common stuff I used both times were Serenity, Dashing Strike, and Blinding Flash. The 2nd time around I used the cookie cutter Thunderclap and SW: Master of Wind the entire journey! Of course back in the early days of Diablo 3, stuff was actually hard and the SC Auction House wasn't much less stocked than even the current HC Auction House.
And now the trophies of the journey! The auction house camping to flip items for profits! Ok, maybe I only ever flipped one thing for anything significant. I was level 35 and had accumulated a little over 1m. After leveling 5 characters to 60, knew I should probably check a -lvl req weapon for when I hit the mid 40s, and saw this gem with a 1m buyout: + Show Spoiler +, I promptly relisted it for 5m and it sold after a few days. So I was pretty well set for 60, buying some higher quality leveling gear to make my the path to Inferno easy.

With cheap -lvl req weapons available, I used this to grind to 60 : + Show Spoiler +.

The moment I hit 60, I swapped to my vibrating fist of doom I picked up with the dagger flip gold + Show Spoiler +, and pounded Diablo to the ground and unlocked Inferno!

So now I will see how long I can last in Inferno without dying. Seeing how much my SC monk dies farming Act 3 MP0, I sure hope not too soon! Tho I will be sure to reply to this post when she finally picked the bucket. If you read this far, you must be even more bored than me.

Time to die!
Update 1:
+ Show Spoiler +
As to continue my story until death, I decided to farm Act 1 some, and (stupidly) picked MP1 to do so. So I went back to farming Warrior's Rest like a champ to tweak my hardcore build . Settled on Backlash with Bladestorm as the cyclones were getting in the way of me seeing wtf was going on. Plus I could drop some crit for other stats as I can't afford too much Crit Damage. Got to Paragon level 2 and decided to finish Act 1.
Noticible Drops from Warrior's Rest! (4 drops! all crap!):

On the way to Butcher I had this ting drop that I am currently using! + Show Spoiler +
So after beating Act 1, I teamed up with another TL buddy (Echaton) do one of those popular Alkaiser run on MP0, and realized how dumb I was to farm Act 1 MP1. It's been a while I guess. But after that run, I decide to just kill Azmodean.

Of course I still had to beat Act 2, so went with Reignofpower to speed clear Act 2:

So now it's on to endless Act 3. May clear Act 4 when I get bored :-D Sorry, no more holy paladins pooping on me. I switch to the Sorcerer for some extra armor instead.
