The Liquid Pasture Community League for Dota 2 is nearing a close, four teams remain and we await anxiously to see who will take it all. However, while we wait for this to close, I would like to take a look back on the season.
The Liquid Pasture Community League was not the most balanced, not the most skilled nor the most attended. It really came down to a random mixture of teamliquid members who would have otherwise never played against each other playing together under one league. Thus, was the goal, thus goal was accomplished. Simply tightly nit community poured into a tournament is all it ever was. I really enjoyed this league though my team found itself losing every week because it wasn't about the wins, but the experience and the fun that was had from clan matches played over skype regardless of the outcome.
At the end of the day, more than half of the original sign ups cut short and decided to forfeit before the season really began. This put a lot and while this put a lot of strain on the league, it did not deter the fun factor for the remaining teams. I'd like to thank everyone who played in Liquid Pasture Community League and for your patience in the original mess that we were dealt. I am glad to announce that sign ups for the next edition of the league are now open, not only do I hope to see many return faces, but also many new ones.
The accomplishments of this league are really not of one person, but of a community and to me this league is a prime example of why the Teamliquid community is the best one out there. None of the teams caused difficult situations and none really prevented league progression and I am highly excited about the future of this league and this community given the effort and manner which was invested by so many into making these matches happen.
The future of the Liquid Pasture Community League is yet uncertain, for now, a simple online league with very low monetary reward. One aspect that is not likely to change, however, I see it as gained community, as anyone who plays dota knows - Going into pubs solo is not that great. I hope to one day strengthen the bonds of this league by bringing the people together, however, any lan discussion is quite far down the road and for now, we will have to make due with what funding we have!
With all that being said, I'm going to try to find a streamer for the semi-finals and the finals of this league, if you are interested please contact me. Oh... And, sign up for the second edition. You can sign up by posting below or posting Here or in the thread that will be released in Dota 2 tournaments post-finals.
