Every single game that's sold for money is "nothing but a money milking scheme".

SC2 wouldn't be an e-sport if it wasn't popular. BW wouldn't be dying if it still had the same viewer base. SC2 wouldn't have been made if Blizzard didn't think they could sell copies. BW wouldn't have been made if Starcraft hadn't sold well.

To everyone involved in e-sports and video game production the only thing that matters is money, sales and viewers. The only people who can seriously blab on about some arbitrary thing like "actual game worth" are the consumers whose only vested interest is playing the game.

So many if and if that this situation x and y would not happen but in the end is there a point you are trying to make here ? Can you successfully assert that game developers are only in the market because they love only money and not making game from their own desire and passion ? . Lots of question marks are being raised here and assumptions are being assume here but we can't say it's for sure the exact truth until we get a game developer talking with us .

BW had a pretty strong viewer base before Blizzard swooped in and forcibly killed it. It still has a decent viewer base in Korea (miles better than SC2's actually). but the notion that pro-BW ended because of waning interest by the fans is completely false.

Actual game worth is pretty important. It's what keeps a game alive many years after its initial release. From what I can see, I don't see many pros expressing their "love" for the game, like they did for BW or WC3. They seem to only play it now for the money sadly, because that's what needs to be done to bring food at the end of the day.

Every game is there to make money.
Just because Blizzard made the mistake of not properly regulating BW, you expect them to step aside now too? That's laughable.

People always seem to think SC2 needs to fill the shoes of Broodwar right away. Well guess what. Yes, Broodwar had a 'superior' scene in terms of infrastructure, but that took them a long while to establish. You are comparing a game that had 12+ years to grow a scene around it, and expect a 'new' game to do so within 1/6th of that time. Sadly most people do not understand that 'results in the past are no guarantee for the future', and that this won't be an easy ride.

For me, I miss the days of Jinro in GSL, IdrA etc. But lets be fair, from an outsiders perspective it's quite clear to me that it , looks like the foreign players are lazy, do not practice and generally have no structure to it. What would happen if we'd have a structure like BW had in Korea, but then in the US? We'd have much higher results in general, and Koreans wouldn't be as dominant. Yes, I believe each foreign pro has the potential to do extremely well, if they focus their practice and stop slacking.

I wish I had the money to set something like that up.
