Alright guys, so I really need some feedback on the way my Chinese casting is going...

Please do NOT confuse this with my last blog on Maximusblack vs. TheWay, because that was on a different matchup and was a completely different game.

Um, I really need to know how to say the following:
Warp Prism ( already know 空投 but that's it)
High Templar (colloquial name, I already know 高级神堂武士)
Cost-effective
"Here we go!"
"This is a Huge engagement!"
Matchup (ZvP "matchup")
"Round" (for example "Round of 128", "Round 2" etc.)
"Set" (for example, "This set only made it to two rounds. There could have been a third round.")

Wow, nice cast. Your Chinese sounds extremely professional and is probably even better than mine in a professional setting, and I'm a native Chinese speaker. Your pronunciation is also really top notch for a foreigner. The only foreigner who I've met who's had better Chinese is this guy who lived in Hong Kong for 5 years. Few questions. Are you trying to mimic Chinese casters, because I can kind of feel that from your casts? Also, where can I found out more about you?

Your Chinese is incredibly good for a non-native speaker, and I really love your casting.

Just a tip: tag your videos, write descriptions, and your channel will get huge with the quality of your casts.

Good luck, great job!

I can't help but feel like you guys are sucking up or trolling me, but that's how I feel when lots of people tell me my Chinese is good in real life.

Um, honestly. I sat down with a book for close to two years (no music or television) because my ex girlfriend comes from one of those places in mainland China where no one has any reason to learn English.

My dream is doing something unique to the entertainment industry: becoming the very first foreigner to cast in Chinese. The only problem is, my listening skills are extremely deficient I feel. I have problems understanding news reports. I am trying to mimic joeman and sobadrush, you could say. But I should probably pay more attention to SCalpha and SCbeta. I have them both on facebook.

Um, my facebook.... eeeh message me for that, I don't want to "advertise" on TL.net.

I have a FB fanpage, it's in the youtube video...

EDIT: I am now uploading this to youku, however, I don't know where I would post this video once uploaded, aside from maybe my renren account. I know matchday.cc (Chinese equivalent of TL.net) and sc.plu.cn... but I'm not too sure I can fit in in their forums that well. My reading skills still kind of suck.

It's clear that you have an accent, but otherwise your Chinese is definitely very very professional and generally getting a perfect accent when you're older is really hard if not impossible. Your diction/intonation/flow is definitely great and for a foreigner, your accent is really good for sure. Nice job :>

Should I see if the guys in Charge of the WCS in Shanghai want me to be a caster there? :3

Wow, very nice. I don't know Chinese but I liked the overall feeling of everything and the way you delivered the cast.

Honestly, I think doing that would make me parallel to a propaganda icon in China...

Does anyone here at teamliquid have connections to the guys that have connections to the guys that are in charge of the whole WCS in Shanghai? I would be more than willing to go, and it would be quite economical...

I still have a valid year-long tourist visa and I'm thinking about rekindling my CN SC2 account...

A lot of your Taiwanese phrases and accents will not transfer well into mainland China. You may want to be slightly sensitive about that.

A lot of the terminology used in Taiwanese StarCraft differs from that in China. I'm not sure if anything has changed in SC2, but an example I remember is that Zealots are often referred to as "狂戰士" in Taiwan, but "叉叉" in China. Also, Hydralisks are generallyl called "刺蛇" in Taiwan, but "口水" in China. It'll take a little bit of practice to get used to if you're serious about casting in China, but compared to how much effort you've put into getting decent at Chinese, I'd say it's easy.

Wait they're actually called "口水" in China? lool

Learn something every day I guess, but that comes across as a weird name...like naming the unit after the material out of which attack its attack seems to be made and all >.<

I feel so embarrassed that I don't know enough Mandarin to understand.

Though I'm really impressed that a non-native person can pick up Chinese so well.

It's because the sound of the Hydralisk attack in (Brood War) sounds like spitting. That's why I'm not sure how much of the terminology carries over to SC2, because the units are different. Maybe the Hydra attack doesn't sound like spitting in SC2, so they use a different nickname.

叉子兵,小狗,蟑螂etc. are all Chinese slang words for names. Also they call buildings by their default hotkeys, BG, BS, VS, BB, etc.

They do the same thing for the buildings in TW.

Are there any particular differences that I should take note of in the unit names?

As far as I know, both places call Ultras 大象, both places call Collossi 巨像,叉叉...

What about the names of abilities and races?

EDIT: How do I say "Map control"?
