So awhile back everyone was complaining about the group stages being Bo1, and now you want everything to go back to Bo1s?
While I agree with you that it's REALLY tiring as a viewer, you can easily just stop watching and check the results later. A lot of people still like to watch it all the way to the end and I don't think GOM should change anything at the moment. The format is really good now (except maybe GSTL could go to Bo7 Proleague style, but that's unlikely to happen).

GSL used to do Bo1's and people kept complaining it was too random and unfair. You can't please everyone, but it's ussually safe to say that more content will please more people.
A single game in other sports takes 2 hours, but there are more than a single game on a single day as well. You can easily have 5-6 hours of football in a single day if you want to watch all games of the tournament. The diference is you ussually only care about one team. If you want to watch a single SC2 player and take a break between his games, it won't feel as exhausting.

But you have the option of watching VODs afterwards too?

I'm new to SC2 so I wasn't around when people complained about the BO1s. But I don't think best of 1s are random or unfair in the group stage. That is what the groups are for after all. You can still lose a game, it is only if you lose two out three games that you are out and that is very normal for a tournament.
I am used to watching full groups live. VODs are less exciting and only watching one player doesn't help. It might very well take the same time total, just with killer breaks (which makes it very different from the foorball example). btw it not only seems tiring as viewer, but also for the casters. Even Tastosis are having trouble to find stuff to talk about.

So how is sc2 treating you fen rax ?

I agree - I reckon the group can be split over 2 days

You dont have to watch the entire thing live. Just start the stream when the match starts on the GOMTV page.

don't agree sorry... I prefer more SC2 to be honest...lol

- stream quality is always awesome which is a great improvement to pro BW
- awesome to have artosis, tasteless and day9 back, other commentators are good too. High quality English commentary to every game is great. Hope Sayle gets there in the future, he is already 2-3 best close behind Artosis and day9, likely would soon become same level with more professional co casters and environment.
- the game is still mediocre atm imo: The Heart of the Swarm expansion will have to deliver big time to fix the issues.
- no LAN is inexcusable

I think what they can do is spread the group games out over a longer period. Also, they don't have to finish a group in one day and they can have different groups playing. This means that players won't have to play up to 3 matches at once. In my example below, I assume 4 groups, but you get the picture if there are 8 groups:
Day1: Group A - Match 1 & 2 Group B - Match 1 & 2
Day2: Group C - Match 1 & 2 Group D - Match 1 & 2
Day3: Group A - Winners & Losers Group B - Winners & Losers
Day4: Group C - Winners & Losers Group D - Winners & Losers
Day5: Group A to D - Deciding matches
As you can see, it will take an extra day, but last GSL Season, there were several free days so I'm sure GOM can schedule this in. This also allows greater preparation for their matches and adequate rest. Also, the excitement gets spread out over several days.
For the ro32, the 0-2 finisher in the group will be decided after Day8 (extrapolated for the extra groups). This will allow the ro48 Code A to go ahead whilst the deciding matches of the groups can proceed from Day9 onwards.

Imo this would be the best, but it can't happen right now because players are flying round the world trying to go to other tournaments, we wouldn't see Thorzain in GSL at all if it was played like this, and many others. If there's a tournament on either weekend before or after your week of games, you'll miss it, having to be there on monday to friday. Maybe something like this, but a little less spaced out, to only require a player to be there for 3 days, rather than 5.
