So this double bank holiday I went to my parents house to see all my family and relatives and whatnot. Mostly boring but with a couple of interesting events. My dad managed to set fire to the outside table using a disposable BBQ and my cousin's dad made a reference to the fact I work in a suit shop...He said something along the lines of "Well I'll just measure your inside leg sir". My whole family proceeded to burst into laughter. Apparently he's the only one that doesn't know I'm gay :p
Anywho, onto the main point of this episode. After my last post one of the tips I was given was to make a bigger effort to keep my money low. The suggestion was to check my warp gates etc after giving any command so I get into the habit of doing just that...
Well I completely failed in one game, had tons of money and somehow managed to win. In another I had tons of money and got completely annihilated.
In my third game (replay attached) I tried a new trick. Because I know I'm hopeless at keeping more than a couple of things in my head at once I decided to try one basing. I know that I can only afford to have 4gates, 2gate/robo or 3gate/stargate constantly producing at the same time off one fully saturated base. In this game my money stays pretty low and I was quite happy with that part.
I did struggle initially since my scouting probe picked up signs of an early pool rush which I'm not all that used to so the first few minutes are me panicking about going "arghhhhhhhhhhhh".
So yeah, watch and see what you think As always any advice is helpful and gives me more stuff to look at next time. I'm hoping to update this blog almost if not daily but I do have a life outside of this so I won't always be able to.
Also if there are any other bronze (or any league really) players that either want a practice partner or a friendly game or (if you're diamond-ish) just a noob to kill after a tough day in the office then feel free to hit me up
PvZ best attempt replay Metalopolis

Btw there will be more replays to come (the ones that I mention in the blog) once I get round to watching them all so I can transcribe all the problems and put them up.
In severe pain with an ear problem at the moment (I'm a sickly guy right now) so they'll be on as soon as I can drug up enough to get through it.

I understood the first paragraph but then it went like wtf how'd we get to starcraft2 ??? I did enjoy the first paragraph tho. How come your father is the only one who doesn't know you're gay ? I figure your parents would talk to each other and he would eventually find out about it no ? A brother would keep the secret but parents ?
Anyway, i think the "spending your money thing" comes down to practice mostly. If you focus on this and ONLY on this for a while you'll get it eventually. At least that's how it worked for me when i tried this exercise in BW : the exercise is to play ( vs a bot ideally but a human can do too ) a ton of games, with the only goal of keeping your money below 300 minerals, and your apm above 300. And you have to do this while using one and only one build. ( not using a build and randomly doing things kinda defeats the purpose as this is a mechanical training, by learning a specific build you completely take the " what do i do now ? " issue off of your shoulders, you don't have to "think" about what to do, it's printed in your brain you just have to think about doing it as best you can ). And even tho i didn't actually get up to 300 apm ( i think i just didn't do it enough ) i did gain the speed i needed to keep my money below 300 and rally my barracks and 1ta2ta3ta45a6a. So i think if you focus on only this and diss winning / loosing / what should i do now ? How should i punish this FE ? Etc etc, you'll eventually gain the ability to macro decently. And then, and only then you can ask yourself what to do.
Edit : lol i gave you a 4/5 and you got 2.5 based on 2 ratings. People are so mean !

Lol, it was my cousin's dad that didn't know. :p
That sounds like a good plan too (the focusing on one thing only). I took that approach to workers after I watched a Day9 video about prioritising things. My plan is to ignore if I win or lose and just focus on being better, then the wins will come by themselves.
For some reason I hate playing against the computer, I understand it's a great tool for practice but I just don't like it. So I think the definite next step should be to find a build that I like and then run with that in all my matches as you said. Focus on keeping my money low. As far as APM goes I really don't give a monkey's. That will come when I know what I'm doing
As much as I hate the idea of using a build order I think for the time being that that should be my focus so that I know what to do when and I can focus on one thing at a time. Then I can look at the 'why' of the build order and things like that.
