Hello. I have been writing and producing music since my early teens and, up until now, have kept it fairly private. My style has always been changing and fairly quirky. I don't know exactly what genre it falls under or even how to describe it, really. It's kind of like Crystal Castles, I guess. They're one of my biggest influences (in this side of my music, at least - I write all kinds, like dubstep, hardstyle, etc). My work holds heavy video gameish and chiptuney flavours.
The last track that I posted, "Press Heart To Continue Theme," is more along the lines of chiptune, I suppose (which is fitting to the subject matter, if you follow Dodger at all). It's definitely a stand-out from the other three and not in the same style, but I'm still very proud of it.
Anyway. I would love to hear some feedback and/or constructive criticism on my work. I realize the style might not be everyone's cup of tea, but I'm hoping it might be a nice surprise to at least some of you. You can listen through the videos I embedded or at my SoundCloud page, which I linked at the end of my post. Thank you for your time!
Only listened to the last track so far (Press Heart to Continue), and before even listening to the others, I just have to say that you're really really skilled at making music. It's a great song, the kind of song you would hear in a retro game, and no matter how horrible the game actually is, you would continue to love and play it just because the music is so good. Kind of like some horrible Mega Man maps with great soundtracks.
I would love to hear more of your music. You should look into letting some indie developers or something use it for their games if you want more publicity, I'm sure a lot of developers would love to use it.

Seriously this is great stuff.
Wow. That is the nicest and most meaningful response I could have hoped for. That really means a lot to me and is inspiring. Thank you very much. I'm going to keep your positive words with me. Day made, no question. <3
Wowow, very cool. You're quite good and they were all a joy to listen to. I love your style... it reminds me of the music I used to listen to almost EXCLUSIVELY. The second and third one in particular remind me of Crystal Castles who used to be my favorite by a long shot. Good stuff. ^_^
I agree with everything Snaiil said, you're great and I think it's a talent worth pursuing. I've tried my hand at a tiny bit of music myself (just one or two trying-it-out tracks), and after seeing yours I feel like diving back into that all over again. Please don't hesitate to post anything else you make, I for one can't wait to hear them. glhf!
Edit: Haha! I just re-read the OP and realized you specifically mentioned Crystal Castles. Nice. I can definitely hear it in your music.

Thank you so much. I really didn't know what to expect in posting my work, but it was a really nice surprise to see these overwhelmingly positive comments. Your words mean a lot to me and give me inspiration to keep writing. I will probably be posting more of my music, thanks to the encouragement I have received. Thank you! :D
The only advice I have to you is to expand your horizons and try a little more variety in your beats. 4 on the floor and that standard dance beat get old quick.
Beats can complement the melody as well rather than just being a constant pulse in the back. Listen to more forms of music. Even if they are nothing like the music you create, you will learn and improve. You like using chiptune sounds/game sounds so try using those 8-bit synths to recreate lots of different moods and get as much out of them as you can. If you're really game for it, you can try making your own synths.
My only real criticism other than that is your production is very straightforward and loud. Being a great producer is not just about composition, but how well you mix and master your stuff. In Mobile, I feel like a bit is lost in the mix and you could definitely mix/master it a bit better.
just never put yourself in a box and say "this is what i do and this is the kind of music i make" and try your hand at anything you feel like doing, experiment and push yourself and you will improve in every aspect of your production
