Title ought to have an '?', character limit exceeded.
When I'm at school with my friends, I can talk about just about anything with them. I am extremely selective with whom I choose to spend my time at lunch break. If I hate you, I'll let you know it and you should piss off. With my friends, we laugh together, we cry together, and we do not give two shits if our feelings get hurt. You're fat? We'll let you know about it. A lot. You look like a faggot in those glasses? Take them off. Failed a test? Haha, guess who we'll be buying mcdonalds from?
If you want a good idea. Think of the smart underachievers who hang out on their own all the time. They don't have much respect in school. They get a kick from anything.
This is such a nice refuge from the real world. The real world full of fake people, fake teachers, fake advertising, and propaganda. I can't have an honest debate with the majority of my teachers because of extremely strong political and/or religious biases. One of my teachers is the smartest guy you will meet, but say anything that contradicts his personal bias on christianity and you've gotten yourself into deep shit. Once in a history course I decided that I would test my bounds. On discussing Aboriginals in Canada I decided to say "The Aboriginals were conquered, if you get defeated in battle after battle you don't come back and say 'give our land back.' The Babylonians had a good system of conquest, join or die. The Romans assimilated each country yet maintained certain individualism to each region. The English made people proud to be conquered by them, look at the commonwealth." To which she replied "You're Polish right?" (in context clearly referring to Hitler) and I just angrily said "My Grandparents were lucky, and Jews weren't coming back to ruin Hitler's plan of a Utopia." Then there was an awkward moment and she threw the debate to someone else. I don't actually hate natives, I have native friends, I don't like Hitler, yet I couldn't say things that were controversial for the sake of debate. As I write this, you should have some context, we were having a debate on the canadian 1920's, whether it was a good period or not, and I defended 'yes' and somehow the conversation dragged on to the natives.
During religion class (bet no-one can guess what kind of school I resent going to by this point) the Kony 2012 video was brought up. I would likely be kicked out of class if I said any of the thoughts that kept coming to my head at the discussion of the video. 'He was hardly the first warlord in Africa.' 'The world is getting to be so grossly overpopulated that by 50-100 years this idea of everybody helping everybody will just not be worth trying.' 'The company allegedly does not even give 50% of donations to the actual cause.' 'Ugandans allegedly report that Kony is in the Congo.' If you wanted to, you can probably guess my stance on abortion too.
And yet, after typing this out. Given the choice I would still go to this school rather than a public school. Public schools ban religious and political conversation completely. This school seems to have at least some degree of allowance to converse about these more controversial topics.
As for classmates. There is one group in our school that my group of friends calls 'the happy group.' This group is full of the most pretentious people you'll have ever met. And no I don't mean a bunch of american celebrity personality types. I mean insane public showing of kindness. Failed a test 'oh you'll do better next time.' New glasses 'omg i love them so much.' 'Girlfriend/boyfriend couple is so cute!!!' Then when you turn your back they brutalize you. Is it that bad to just tell them to their face what you think?
In advertising. Why can't you say what your product is without trying to cover it up. Put the calories of an actual portion of food on your commercial, not a quarter of a portion. Why can't a government have transparency? There is a scandal every time you turn around.
Why don't people tell the truth? Because people can't stand the truth. Why? Because fuck you, thats why. Or at least that is the best reason I can deduce.
I wanted to make a practice group for Starcraft after being sheltered, if you will, by my group of friends. I asked for masters only on reddit. I got some people interested to play. Then someone said 'I am bronze, can I join?' This obvious troll got my response of 'sure, I love wasting my time helping out bronzies.' Did he get down voted for being a retard? No. I got down voted for telling people what they didn't want to hear.
I got called an elitist for not wanting to help the lower league players. I explained that this is a colossal waste of time for me and the other masters for the benefit of one bronze league. Keep the down votes coming. I got called a douche bag and another said I was besmirching the community.
I'm tired of pretending to be someone I'm not for the benefit of others. Some people can't even take constructive criticism of their work properly. I don't hate you, I hate lying to you. I'll still help you, but you better be prepared to have a real conversation.
If you are emotionally weak. You will be stronger by learning to deal with the truth. You're terrible at this. You failed a test. You did not get the job. Do you think it is better for people to hear sugar coated lies to make you feel better, but when you fall out of the plane and onto the cloud of lies your body goes through it?
very well written, and I agree on nearly all of the points you made and feel the same way. whenever I try to have a good debate with someone about a controversial topic, the other side of the argument ALWAYS takes bias--be it religion or politics or any other thing that he/she might deem set in stone.

Interesting read. People say and do things for other reasons than to put their true thoughts and intentions out in the open.
It also may be worth considering that the people in "the happy group" are being dishonest when they are "brutalizing" each other. There's an aspect of peer pressure to talking behind people's backs.
By the way, your teacher nailed you with just about the sickest burn ever, if I'm reading you correctly, you'd respect him/her for saying it.

5/5
Yep. I got pwned by that statement. I still don't like her, but I had a moment of insight into which I saw her critical thinking.
She is smart. I hate her for other reasons, but I won't deny she's a very smart person and respectable.
what school do you go to? i dont know of any religious universities in canada you are wrong on the whole 'they were made proud to be conquered' thing...it has nothing to do with your teachers christian bias either. then again, you might just be a pro-war person like I am when I play civ3, and just think the most conquering and most violent are the most moral and ethical. if so...you probably won't want to hear any argument against imperialism.

I don't go to university, I am 16.
I think morals and ethics are written by the victor. Along with history.
We know from the outside that North Korea is the most fucked up shit hole in the universe. However, I get to talk to Koreans a lot. They would tell me how the citizens of North Korea legitimately believe they live on the best place in the world. They are actually happy to live where they live. They worship the leader as a god.
With that perspective, what are good morals? A person is considered immoral not because some deity will punish them, but rather they ruin the happiness of others. Yet North Koreans are supposedly quite happy as long as they are not in a prison or the few stricken officers who can't open their mouths anyway.

no you got down voted for being an asshat
Along with being a straight-shooter.
Good read OP.
yes, well, there were much more polite ways of saying that; one could merely have ignored the user's request, or responded with a simple "sorry, this is Masters only" - clearly the reddit SC community is one that values politeness and courtesy, and accordingly downvoted him because his comment was unnecessarily rude

Lets pretend you are a teacher. There is a student at the front of the class. Listening intently on your lecture that 1+1 = 2. Immediately, less than a second (I think something like 338 milliseconds) after your lecture. The student at the front of the class, who was paying attention asks you what 1+1 equals.
Some guy reads my post about a masters only practice group. He knows it is masters only and I refuse to help low leaguers. He then asks if he can join as a bronze leaguer.

Do you really want people to tell you the truth ALL THE TIME? They are just being friendly, i can't believe you have a problem with that. Alternatively, telling the truth in those situations like 'you failed the test? you such a loser, your gonna be flipping burgers for the rest of your life' or 'those glasses make you look like a fag' is typical response from an asshole, and nobody likes an asshole.
You seem to have a lack of how other people live their lives. You classify yourself as smart underachiever. Perhaps if you are really smart, you should be abled to put yourself in the shoes of other people, and realise all your expectations can't be met. You are so obsessed with the truth. It's like you find some sort of righteousness in telling the truth and nothing but the truth. Maybe there are more important things than just the truth. Like being nice to others and respecting their beliefs. Life ain't black and white, some people (well most people actually) believe telling the truth sometimes isn't the 'right' thing to do.
While I'm not someone who likes people to fully sugar coat lies there is a time and a place to. Obviously you wouldn't tell a cancer patient who has terminal cancer to give up the last few months of their lives as they will eventually lose everything. However in your case, you acted fine as the time and the place was right. I usually try to sugarcoat a little while trying to push across the truth. It might be a sensitive topic for someone as they might want to hold on to some hope.
Sorry for all the edits by the way. Typing on a phone is rough at points.
I'm the exact same my friend. Albeit I don't share quite the same views as you on a number of the topics you posted, I act similar and my friend group is the exact same as yours. Ruthless, lol.
Sounds like a non-conformist rant from a teenager who fails to realize his identity was shaped in the same process as everyone else around him. We are nothing but byproducts of the environment we develop in, combined with the genes of our parents. It was chance that you have been blessed(not in the religious sense) with a higher level of understanding how society functions and it's direct effect on 'individuality.' Dont waste this intelligence by sitting on your throne punching children because you think the pain will make them stronger. Think a little harder and realize people don't like hearing the truth for reasons much more complicated than those which fulfill your egotistical philosophies.
I applaud your views and beliefs, and for the well written post.
You might as well kill yourself now though if your bothered this much by what happens in high school, it only gets worse. Just thought you might like someone to tell it like it is.
Since you say you want people to speak their mind... and with the truth...
I think you're an arrogant and immature highschooler. Your line of thinking and criticism succeeds at not only capturing basic points that every adult on this planet knows, but it fails to understand how to interact with people in an effective and reasonable manner. Your logic is based around a capitalist/strife notion of victory as self justifying: the winner writes history and gets to make the rules. This logic is quite flawed. I hope one day you, above most other people, are mature enough to figure out why. As it stands focus on being humble, learning, and doing something better than trolling history classes just because you want to make some washed-up and worthless point.
Lastly, your opening paragraph pretty well captures how you're basically just a jackass kid. Not only do you discriminate, effective, based on sexuality (use of the term faggot), you also presuppose that you simply can say these things to people. I hate to tell you this, but not everyone on earth is in a position where they can be an asshole to others whenever they feel like it. All that you have done is demonstrate your own privilege. Further, at the exact moment you envision yourself as honest and everyone else as "fake" or "lying" you have constructed a personal identity of self, which, you clearly use to imagine a position for yourself in the world that is not accurate or correct. That is, when you proceed to correct everyone else for their biases and positions, you yourself have not yet managed to identify or get past your own.
You don't need to pretend to be anyone, it's just common courtesy and keeps society from going down the shitter. It's fine to act this way as a kid but you will grow up eventually and find there are are actual consequences behind words.
