That word has no meaning to me. People seem to be misreading. I referred to my friends as my haven from the fake. I don't go around insulting everyone and telling people what I think, what is fact. I get to do that amongst my friends because that's what gets us through. Call me an arrogant non-conformist teenager. I don't stand for 'be different than everyone else.' Rather, 'have individuality by your own right.' This question on what morality is an interesting one. If you want we can come back to times gone by. It used to be normal for people to have multiple wives. It used to be normal to not treat a woman with equality. The Canadian Constitution spent about 100 years where women were not actually considered 'people.' Slaves were actually thought of as less than human. Rather than try to finish that thought at all I'll let it sit. This thread has magically derailed into 'what is truth, what is morality?' I won't pretend to know the answers to the questions I will have thrown at me. And I will hopefully enjoy the challenge of taking them on. So, maybe in a few years if I remember at all to look at this. I will realize what a fool I am, but for now this puts thought to words and lets people challenge me for it.

The Babylonians had a good system of conquest, join or die. Bad blog, poorly written, whiny. Please learn your Mesopotamian history. I get the impression that you think the Neo-Assyrians = the Babylonians (which .... uhhhhh, no), and even then, the Neo-Assyrians didn't really have an actual policy of "join us or die."

The word self-entitled is very nasty and often gets used inappropriately, but this is one case where it's completely accurate. Everyone has been in classes where there is one idiot who doesn't have much understanding of a topic but insists on arguing with the professor. Everyone hates that kid. You are that kid who doesn't bother to learn about the issues of which he has such fervent opinions that he must share them with the world and waste other's time.

People lie because there is an incentive for them to lie. By lying, they maximize their utility. If I am understanding this correctly, you feel you are entitled to them acting in such a way that their utility is not maximized. Why do you think you are so special?

This thread has gone no where near the topic of what morality is. It has evolved into the attempt of making you realize the extent of your douche-baggery. Who cares about the definition of morality. That's not what your post even slightly attends to. You realize morality is subjective. Grats! You want a challenge? Acknowledge that there are millions of people more insightful and intelligent than you. Better looking than you. Warmer than you. This is truth..

I am extremely selective with whom I choose to spend my time at lunch break. Do me a favor and come back and see what you wrote in a couple years. LOL@the replies. You want people to give it to you straight? You got it. Angsty teenager, that's a good one.

Yes, I actually hated it too. Which says something about this post, I guess. At least Catcher was well-written.

The world is difficult to read with clouded eyes. Intelligence is a non-factor here. That book was good for many reasons, none of them being sympathy for the protagonist. I think I had actually started liking other people around 16 though. Softness is nice.
