Hey everyone! Thanks for stopping in on (what hopefully is) this beautiful day! As I have noted I'd like to address a few unrelated things somehow related to the SC world. First, I'd like to see the perspective of GSL season passes for entertainment. Second, there is a musing on current Terran meta development at the highest level of play.
GSL:
I'm looking into buying a season pass and I know it isn't much money for a single season but I cannot help but say "am I really going to be able to access the content well?" I'd like to see the perspective of those users who watch GSL regularly and their experiences with the system as it stands. Generally I am confused by it and never get to watch a game unless I'm up at 3AM to watch the free SQ stream.
I really want to start following my favorites more closely Especially since my bandwidth is cut now and streaming before midnight never loads, so I never see the likes of Polt, Kas, ESV TV, or any event well now.
Terran Metagame--Bio doing better across the board:
In the recent months players have been calling OP/UP on both sides of the TvP matchup and professional T players have moved away from the 111 allin tenancy in the MU so that they don't have to flip a coin (and also because protosses have figured out how to defend much better). In this time both sides of the MU have learned how to attack and defend much better, when it is safe to tech, expand, and when to scout for such timings. In the meantime Terrans figured out...."Hey!! Screw my factory units I am going bio+air support!"
By doing this the matchup has almost stagnated when it comes to ideal situations (3 base MMMVG vs 3 base Gateway, storm, chargelot archon, and collosus support). Obviously there is variation on how to obtain the ideal unit composition and deny your opponent theirs, but when both players approach max they have this type of unit composition.
Focus in on the Terran, what has he learned to do? Stutter step micro is almost more powerful than against Zerg, landing EMPs has come quicker and on more valuable targets, multipronged attacking (both drop+poke AND 200/200 army fights), sniping down straggling units, and overall requiring more knowledge of where the enemy army is. Obviously the macro and the micro have improved over the last several months across the entire SC2 range that actively plays, but what does this all mean in the other matchups?
More cost effective bio play.
TvT and TvZ "pure" mech are both becoming more rare, in my eyes, both on low level ladder (plat) and in high-level play (GSL) because of the effective skills in the TvP matchup. The thought processes don't disappear because there aren't big units that regen shields on the field. Terrans are becoming more harassment based than ever, taking advantage of their mobility and strength of their units in small portions. Obviously factory units are still in play and huge dynamics of the MU overall, but Terran is deciding Marine-Tank-Medivac is the ideal unit composition at this point in time.
I'm happy for this difficulty in the TvP matchup too, because it provides much more interesting play to watch and to do. 200/200 armying with mech is boring, and one lost fight probably will lose the game. Now ghosts are being used more than ever in TvZ and even in TvT. Tanks are used as a support to the bio compositions that wreak havoc on enemy bases so fast.
I'm sure this is a continually evolving dynamic of getting better over time, but I like to see an almost direct coorelation to a "meta MU" turning into a full metagame change for Terran players. I love to see this fuel more continual change until we see some crazy stagnation of the build against other meta-game plays soon to follow and maybe turn back to mech or even sky.
This was meant to just document my thoughts on the matter, and I hope you enjoyed them TY for reading
TL;DR: Is GSL content easy to view with season pass? I love that TvP forced players to get much better rather than patch an answer.

Yes, VODs are uploaded within 1-2 hours after the stream finishes and are well organised and spoiler free.

Yea i got the GSL lite ticket, Very good, seems to be worth it.
But I'm not sure if I shoulda got the GSTL :S
I watch GSTL more but the GSL vods are far more numerous / memorable.

You used "meta" 6 times and I'm absolutely convinced you have zero meta understanding about what that meta means.

Gom's VODs are quite nice.
For code S, all the days matches in a single post (named by group stage).
The video itself is divided into chapters, one for each game.
The video automatically starts at set 1 game one but chapter select always shows 15 games so it is always spoiler free. All of the pre-and post-game introductions and analysis from the live stream are included in the VoDs, so you aren't missing any pre or post-game analysis (or if you just want the games, you can obviously skip it and just navigate to the next video). Game 1 includes the player introduction graphics, and other misc stuff, so it tends to be a little longer, and you do have to seek a bit if you want to just get into the games. From the second game onward, the video starts just as the game starts. Do note that they do displaye how long each video is, so that can be a potential spoiler if you are familiar with the matchup, but it is easy to ignore it since that indiciator is small and out of the way (and doesn't show up at all if in full-screen mode).
The code A games were all posted as separate videos per set, but again is spoiler free with each VoD showing 3 games. I suspect they do this due to the 2-stream setup, although it loses some stream coherency.
You can always check out GomTV's VoDs yourself, since they show the first game of each VoD LQ free. It'll give you some familiarity with the interface. They are pretty good about posting them quickly, though there are sometimes hiccups and they themselves note that the VoDs are posted 8 hours after live (I assume this is 8 hours after the live ends), although they usually get it up much faster.

I HATE WHEN PEOPLE SAY METAGAME, it makes me want to punch babies in their faces... Sharing a pass with a friend.

Haha, metagame elitists should get used to it - even though the word metagame is technically used incorrectly, words evolve and their meanings change. That's how the "metagame" evolves into a different metagame! hahahahaha

Metagaming would be acquiring knowledge of a certain opponent ahead of time and using that knowledge to make a decision in game that may have not been made otherwise. I am 100% certain this is correct. Saying the current metagame of terran is X or saying that you metagame opponents you have never even played before doesn't make sense.
