No, you are absolutely correct. We can all agree that the KR ladder is easily the richest place of talent and skill, and anyone that opposes that notion is ... ill-informed or trololololling. And the ping is only 20-50ms higher than the SEA server, which is basically nothing. So I am 100% positive im making the switch to the KR ladder.

US server is about the same sort of ping as Sea. I haven't noticed any difference when playing, At one point I forgot to change region while waiting for server reset and played next 30 of so games on SEA lol.
do what we all do? switch to US server for games :/
Actually, Aus ISP isnt too bad these days, the government has been upgrading the lines, and are currently in the process of a multi-million dollar scheme to make our internet as fast as koreas, but in any case, my personal internet is quite good for Aus ISP, I live near a switch point and on top of that I use cable and live in an elderly neighborhood where hardly anyone has internet. However, Aus -> Us, is about 250ms, while Aus -> China/Korea is only 80-100ms. That could just be me though.

I ditched the SEA server and made masters on NA without any lag issue. I think op is being unreasonable about it in the first place. I get 250 ping to na 350-400 to sea. Didnt stop me from getting masters on both two seasons ago. And when i do queue it only takes me 1 1/2 minutes to find a match. The reason you're stuck in gold is the fact that a player who is still in gold season 5 is a casual who can't get better than the inactive mean, or because you started late last season... NA is quite bearable ping imo, every other isp in the country should have better connection than me.
I dont think you may be reading. 1.5-3 seconds delay, or more sometimes. I cannot play NA, its the main reasons I stopped competing in the Go4Sc2, the delay is just not reasonable. And personally, I dont mind spending $40 to get a TW/KR account and ladder on the best ladder and get a true gauging of skill. And FYI, I took a break from season 2 3 and 4 because of studies, so yeah, im a little out of it, and the new season only started a few weeks ago, i dont think there would be a better time to jump servers.

I think ur making this a bigger deal than what it is... u CAN get out of gold, when u play more games and win more. I am on SEA and NA, its funny how u get lag, because i dont get any and im in aus too. make the goal to get to masters on SEA, just suck it up and keep playing, im masters on SEA and dont have issues finding someone to verse. granted, its slightly longer and i get weird match ups verse diamonds and grandmasters, but hey i dont care i just want a game.

Im sorry I dont like having 1 game an hour, maybe 2. It boring and dull. I dont want to go to the NA server because there is more delay than there needs to be. You clearly have not read everything written here, because if you had you wouldnt be replying with the same things others already have. I want to improve, and switching to NA with 1.5-3 seconds of delay is not going to make any real improvement. I would rather go to the best ladder with only 80~90ms and play on that server. I dont want JUST a game, I want the best game I can have, and I cant have that on SEA. GM on the SEA is only Diamond maybe some on masters in KR. There is no competition in SEA, its just laddering against people who play once a week. On another note, the people on my friends list have not been on in over 52 weeks. The population is dwindling and everyone is jumping ship, so im going to jump to the KR ladder, its the closest to the SEA server.

i have 1-2 min wait time on SEA almost regardless of what time it is, im gold on sea too

It is the closest (by distance) to SEA, I mean technically, Korea IS South East Asia, but its split up for whatever reason, therefore having less delay than NA and EU.

Isn't the SEA server in korea anyway?

If you are trying to insult me with that dumbass comment about dodo, you are just making yourself look arrogant. Clearly im still on dial-up -_-
Well congratulations to you two, its good to see that it works to some extent, but, once again, I repeat myself, it does not work for me.
And once again, I dont think you read this thread at all, otherwise you would have seen my internet speed and situation. Please, just dont comment again.

I'm also Australian, I play SEA a little bit but the majority of my games have been played on NA, with a few on my new KR account. I disagree with the thing you said about SEA not having a competitive scene, and the queue times aren't that much worse than other servers.

This is a joke right? 800 players online at peak on the SEA server. And the "best" of the SEA server get rolled by NA masters. The queue times differ, but for the most part they are larger than 2-3 minutes. queue times on the NA server is about 30-40 seconds, and EU is about 15-30 seconds, the TW/KR server only has about the same as EU. The SEA server is a ghost town, there are 30-40 people in chatrooms, and very few active players. The majority of players are new comers to the game. It is easily the worst of the servers, and why would anyone want to play on the worst, when they could play on the best with no penalty? Its either going to merge or be left to a few hundred players. There are Ragnarok Online servers with more players than the SEA server atm.

I'm too lazy to check right now, how many games go on in NA?

Can`t comment on NA but there are around 8000 games going on here. (EU server)

I played on SEA server on release, Got to Diamond on Satilite connection(which is 600+ ping minimum). In the first season. You can get out of gold. That being said, I agree that the player size on SEA is far too small now. So a merger with another region would be welcome. Infact I wish there was a global region option. Which would just connect you with the best pinged opponent to you, that is similar rank. Oh well. Maybe when Blizzard gives up the region idea(I predict that will be when jesus returns + Show Spoiler +)

1,200 games for the TW/KR server at 3 am
