Watching Proleague last night crushed my Zerg spirit. Effort looked helpless in front of Bisu, Zero was stormed to death by Kal, s2 lost a game he should have won and Soulkey's beautiful muta micro was all for naught.
Now that I play BW Zerg I actually feel pain when I see such one sided affairs where the Zerg just melt to the coming onslaught. This is because stuff like last night happens to me everyday! I know the feeling
Do you know how it feels when all your scourge die to sairs without landing a hit?! Then the sairs rape your ovies and then DTs walk inside. You know the rest. That feeling of helplessness can seriously scar a man forever!
Well, today I logged on to play my first game. I was out for revenge, I was out for blooood:
Happy New Years folks and thanks for reading!
Things I learned:
1. Terran scan is a crucial resource in BW. Force him to use it by spreading out lurkers or unburrowing and running away.
2. The threat of mutas do funny things to your opponents head. Use the opportunity to drone hard and expand.
3. It is important to keep your mutas in between the bio force and your bases. Harass them all along the march to your base when they are spread out in marching line formation. Otherwise, they will end up at your base all clumped up and ready to rock.
4. In regards to #3, in BW the units do not walk in balls but walk in lines and are spread apart, thus a formation is weakest when they are on the march. In SC2, it is nearly impossible to snipe lone marines if they are all under one control group.

just expand to another main base.. plant 2-3 lurkers at the top of the ramp and u wont have that problem ever again.

hmm that is weird because I used the upload feature so that my images fit inside the box. can you check my previous blog posts (links at the bottom) to see if you see the same thing?

Man I use to hate it sooo much when a zerg would successfully burrow 3-4 lurkers above the ramp to his 3rd. Made it damn near impossible to simply attack that base without dropping it. Any time you can take a 3rd base with a ramp, you should! It definitely makes it that much easier to stop any sort of m&m timing attack intended to take down your 3rd base.

Until he makes a dropship That just delays his vessels, and plus dropshipping the 3rd isn't really going to be effective if u have already 3 lurkers there...

I love your blogs
Nice win!

That wasn't ayumi. It looked like 2 rax acad + add 2 rax, which is absolutely standard play. Ayumi is like, 4 rax before acad or something horribly cheesy.

Happy new year! I understand your feelings about Zerg losses in proleague. I hated zerg first but now zerglings are my favourite units and watching sauron zerg destroy protosses with their proud high tech units is so good. I am looking forward to your next blog.

Very nice win. Next time for a 3rd, go to a different main to do it and plant 2 lurkers, 3 just to be safe, at the top of the ramp/choke. He shouldn't be able to even get close to the 3rd for quite sometime until he gets tanks/dropship.

Nice win, right in time for the new year. <3 Mutalisks

By the time you make the dropship and drop 7marines/1medic, that 3rd base will be up and running with lurkers and possibly a sunken to defend. Totally sucks >.<

You mean 6 marines 1 medic 1 firebat?
Gotta bring that firebat to kill infinite lings <3

you shouldn't take the corner bases as a third in zvt on python. the ramp is very wide and you can't defend it without a large amount of lurkers. you want to take the 6oclock base with the position you spawned in so you can defend the natural more easily, and take the main for a fourth gas.

just went and read your other two entries. The pictures make can make the game seem so much more exciting, even without the text.
well done indeed!
