Oh gosh, sorry. It was a bad joke.
Here's circle, circle, dot, dot and cooties was a fake disease you get from the opposite gender that the children invented.
Sorry, I shouldn't make light of a situation like this. I hope you get well soon man. Too bad it sounds like you got it from a drink and not from a girl

ive heard the song tbh, never had an idea what its about tho, meh we all need some happiness in all this trouble :p
Thats the thing, I feel like and my mindset is the same as if I had a fever, one,two days and its gone but thats not the case...

But how can I get infected when no of my friends have ever had it?
|
I've never had it before so this isn't some kind of personal experience but I heard the symptoms can recur. Have you ever been sick like this before? If you got it when you were young then the symptoms aren't supposed to be as bad as when you're an adult. Also that wikipedia article you linked says it's a type of herpes, so maybe you got it from your parents even though they aren't experiencing symptoms right now? Or you might be able to get it from anyone who's ever had it before, I'm not sure. Cold sores are a type of herpes and they stick with you for the rest of your life and are highly contagious. I don't think it's completely crazy that you got mono.

Well the doctor said, that if you get this as a kid, you get a cold sort of. But when you get it now in the teenages, it explodes and has this effect so I dont think ive had it before, and yeah it will stay with you for the rest of your life but you will only get it again if your immune blabla is really bad

My sister had a very severe case. She couldn't eat or drink anything, projectile vomit when she tried. Could barely talk. She had to stay in the hospital on IV for at least a week or two. Lost 15-20 pounds (and she was already skinny). Really horrible.

My roomate sophomore year in college had it and missed the last 2 months of fall semester. Ended up in the hospital for over a week, since he was already sick as fuck to begin with, he ended up getting bronchitis AND strep all the same time, he actually almost died. Had to go on some crazy fucking steroids, needless to say he missed finals and tanked his gpa since one of his professors refused to give him the final.
I know some people who've recovered in 1-2 weeks though, and thankfully I've never gotten it. Best of luck though, hopefully you don't end up as bad as some of the stories here, and at least if you don't you'll be able to take something positive out of the fact you didn't get it that bad lol

the funny thing is when i post this everyone post the worst experiences possible... Oh you guys, thank you so much

I only caught mono this year after moving to NY, no idea how I picked it up. Knocked me out for about a good two weeks, complete with fever and mild hallucinations.

Seven other wrestlers and I got mono at regionals. Try explaining that to your asshole friends when the newspaper runs an article about it.

Get morphine bro, it makes everything better.

IIRC more than 90% of over 30 year old people have traces of the virus in their systems. Again, IIRC you are immune to it after you had it once, even if it becomes active again. However, if it becomes active you are still able to infect others. It spreads through body fluids.
And again, IIRC kissings disease is one of those virusses that can leave you feeling weak for up to a year, although I believe that thats something that all virus infections can do. But IIRC it happens especially often with kissings disease.

Mono sucks. I got that right off the bat in college, missed a solid month and a half of work and school and lost like 30 or 40 pounds. Fun stuff.
