Very detailed guide, and I just want to add a little bit to the pulling video.

For pulling, I think it is mostly for lane control, so single pull is considered useless because single stack of neutral won't kill many creep. In my understanding, I usually do the double pull or I don't pull at all. Either I waste one pulling to spawn two wave of creeps or I do the double pull. The trick (or not really trick anymore) is to have tango for Radiant so you can open a path and pull the second group of creep. Usually when the creeps' overall hp is down to half, you can pull the second creep and let them attack you in front of your creeps. Beyond that, since Icefrog rework the spawn that corpse don't stop spawning new creeps, you can do triple pull in Radiant if you do double pull around 26 sec for every minute. You should be able to pull your creep to the second wave before the first wave re-spawn, and you usually have to take some damage to clear all the creeps because your creeps will be dead. Anyway, if you manage to do that right, your lane will have so much advantage since you gain extra exp and your opponent lose one wave of exp. Even if we play 2v1 in the bottle lane, we will both outleveled the other side =).

Again, hit me with a key please.

I have quite a few LoL players who haven't played HoN or DotA but are interested in DotA 2. I'll definitely show them this guide! Thanks!

Stack pulling is always better than single pulling because single pulling pushes the lane as the creeps dont die and actually end up back in the lane around the same time as the next creep wave leading to a double wave push. The only time i'd single pull is to get the lane back for a small period of time to set up a gank, usually from mid.

Man I am excited for some epic rune battles at zero minutes!

cant wait to see what other blogs you come up with, these have been more than exceptional. i can't wait for the beta to open up so i can hopefully play with you and other TLers. also though, really liked the creep pulling thing because while it sounds simple, for me it was always hard to put into practice. ;\

You should talk about creep equilibrium. Basically whenever you attack a creep it pushes the lane forward and when attack your own creep it pulls the lane back. Same applies to towers attacking creeps, random spread of creep dmg, and the way the creepwave engages.

General rule of thumb, the closer the creeps are to a tower, the safer it is because people can port in and the lane is closer to your side of the map

So after reading the guide again I want to add some things that are maybe worth editting in.

Illusion runes create two illusions of a hero that can be used for scouting, extra damage, or simply confusing the enemy

2 images. Last 75 seconds. Take 300% damage. Deal 35% damage.

Regeneration runes very quickly heal a hero back up to full HP and MP. Like a salve or clarity, these break upon receiving any damage.

Regenerates 3000 HP and 2010MP over 30 seconds. 100 HP/s 67 MP/s.

The Time of Day

Maybe you can add that one cycle takes 12 minutes. 6 minutes day and 6 minutes night time.

Yeah thats about it. Maybe its already to in-depth don't know (just ignore my Post then :p)

I dont know if it's intended, but they're not 6 minutes each. It's true that the first night starts at 6 minutes, but it doesn't end on 12 minutes and the next doesn't start on 18 minutes. I'm not actually sure when it changes exactly

Great guide covering the basics. As a former DotA player who now screws around in League of Legends, I would say this really highlights how different the 2 games are, especially in terms of competitive potential. Also, I hope I get lucky w/ a key!

The mechanics section on PlayDota says:

The clock starts at 6:00, which is where daytime starts. It is considered to be day between 6:00 to 18:00, and night from 18:00 to 6:00. Each complete cycle takes 12 minutes (6 minutes day and 6 minutes night). There are only 2 ways of interrupting this cycle, and it is with Night Stalker's ultimate, Darkness and Luna's ultimate, Eclipse. While under the effect of it the clock will be paused.

Are you sure there wasn't a NS ingame? If that was the case, it may actually be a bug in Dota2, PlayDota should be acurate on something as simple as this.
