As soon as I hit masters on my Korean account....

Lesson learned: Koreans are good. Other ladders are a joke once u hit maters on Korea.

Other ladders are a joke to people better than the ones competing on the ladder, for a vast majority of players they're hardly a "joke".
We have multiple brackets generated in advance. Relax . (Kennigit) I just simply do not understand how it can be the time to play can be 22nd at 9:30 pm PST / midnight the 23rd at the same time. (GGzerg)

Don't you play people of the same skill regardless of server because of how match making works?

Yeah except for those at the very top. So the only thing server skill affects is those players at the very tip top or the rock bottom.

Koreans play a much more refined game so while the skill is the same the execution is better.

judging by Whiplash's results screen

he isn't being matched against players of equal skill

the korean ladder is indeed ridiculous. not only do they have much better players at the top of their ladder, a larger percentage of their players are also just flat out good. i guess that is to say that they have many more players that can play at a high level than the other servers do.

It feels kind of like training with weights on your body. I have to say though even though I lost many games it is really motivating to play on the korean server and a lot of fun.

Hmm, I always thought the matchmaking system matched you against a smooth progression of opponents--it's most likely that you were playing at a time dominated by higher MMR opponents--but even then you shouldn't be getting -13 against favored people. Simply being promoted shouldn't really change how hard your opponents are given that you played mostly people in your current league before being promoted.

many people don't understand why its different. Koreans in general high diamond + their builds are a lot more refined then say north america or Europe. For example a NA terran is going cloaked banshee expand. But he doesn't have timings per say he just does it when he has the money.

Koreans when they do the same build have transition times and everything. Their builds are a lot more refined and a lot more solid. The korean player doing the same build well, do it better. I don't know why but they just do.

You play the 1/1/1 on NA, then play it on korea and you'll see the difference for example (in pvt). A protoss friend of mine me and him talked about it and he said he doesn't know why but when the koreans on korea do 1/1/1 it is way way harder to hold off then when a NA terran he plays does a 1/1/1.

They just know how to do their builds better and are again more refined.

I have been playing on korea for almost 2 months straight now I think and these are just very noticeable. I barely play on na now due to it (and no latency playing on korea is a nice bonus feels just like playing on NA for me :D). I play some masters terran on na who goes marine/marauder/tank attack hoping it wins but doesn't make turrets.

I have yet to face a terran on korea (other then when I first got the account 6 months ago when mmr starts really low ) who ever forgets turrets when I go muta.

I mean tbh it is kind of hard to explain but if you played on korea you would know what I am talking about and whiplash and any other foreign player that plays on korea.

also on a side note: when zerg players in gsl get an interview and say terran is insanely strong and players laugh at them, I didn't understand it either but the terrans on korean server are insanely good. Seriously the skill difference between the average terran on EU/NA then playing korea is ridiculous. I can see why nestea complains about terran for example in his interviews lol (no i'm not saying terran is imbalanced either just saying their terrans so gosu)
When I think of something else, something will go here

Ladders show relative skill not absolute. That is, it indicates your skill relative to the other players on the ladder. So, short answer, no.

From my experience on the KR Server the overall style is more aggressive - that tends to expose holes in your build that you don't get to know when you play in a calmer surrounding.

So I wouldn't say that Koreans in the ladder are per se better, they just tend to punish a player who's used to sitting back with too few units/not enough defensive measures and tries to quickly get to his money combo.

That also forces games that rely a lot more on micro than I'm used to, coupled with the fact that playing from germany creates quite some lag for me I simply gave up and focused on EU (and US where I started a couple of days ago).

I will get to know the korean ladder when I'm there <3

from my personal experience korean masters ladder isn't that hard and i'm around the same level on ladder as you on NA. the one thing you have to keep in mind is that korean playstyle is that if they see a weakness, they will immediately go for it (i.e. a weak wall-in with only 1 supply depot will be baneling busted) whereas on NA players tend to do their own thing and macro up. if you learn how to play safely it isn't so bad

Korean ladder is indeed hard, but I can't really play it because of the horrible delay. 4 gate battles are an insta-loss for me and ling runbys are almost impossible to stop.

But their ladder is indeed much, much harder than any other server (FFs too late)

Also, oh my god Korean 2 rax is so deadly just because their stutter step micro is absolutely insane.
