Why would he leave TL that pretty much made him who he is today? Great financial offer I guess? He knows he will lose some of his fans, he knows most of community doesn't like EG and most importantly, he knows what consenquences leaving TL/OGS house will have. Someone was saying the monetary offer was potentially life-chaging, well, I think that's sort of understandable then.
If that's true though, why would EG pay so much to get (keep) him? EG is known for running their things well business-wise, but I just don't see how such a big investment can pay for itself.
Overall this is very disappointing. I don't understand why would they hype buying a player (I know, they'll be also setting a house in Korea) so much. After the first day I was sure Huk wouldn't be going anywhere and there is some greater thing going on. Part of what made me believe this was the uncontrolled thread here. I thought that if it indeed meant something sad like HuK leaving TL for EG, mods would have closed it after seeing people slowly not taking the HuK thing seriously and starting having fun there.
I'm just sad at the moment. No offense to Sheth and HerO, but somehow I feel liquid team isn't what it used to be anymore

i agree. Only way to even the odds is for Tyler to start producing imho

1 star is what you deserve for not understanding how buisness works

Idra is going to Korea, I wonder what will happen with him and his girlfriend??

I can't wait to see how many of these blogs pop up today.
Oh and,
Someone was saying the monetary offer was potentially life-chaging, well, I think that's sort of understandable then.
Do you know who that someone was? Re-read the announcement. If Naz says it's potentially life-changing, then you have to believe that it really is an insurmountable number for Liquid to match.

I support HuK and his decision. He was thinking about his life and the opportunity that EG offered him.. this obviously wasn't an easy decision for him. TL was his family, and now EG is his employer.
It's just the way it goes. He needs to think about himself, too.

I expect EG to start printing out HuK's teamshirt as if it was money immediately if they haven't already started.
However, the Liquid team a year ago was pretty much a dream-team that was actually at its peak a year ago. Too bad they didn't really inject new talent into it when it was available. E.g. ThorZaIN would be a perfect fit for Liquid, and he was in a very small team until quite recently. One year ago, Liquid was actually actively scouting for talent. One year later, Liquid's activities have been much quieter.
It's all quite unfortunate though. I remain convinced that TLO had the potential to be a GSL superstar, if not every single damn thing went wrong for him and the possible fact that he lacked the mentality to do it. If anyone could be the BoxeR of SC2 and that person was a non-Korean, that man would have been TLO. Creative, entertaining, charming and he was absolutely brilliant at the game. Then he lost his health and his motivation and everything went down from there.

This is such a good financial move for EG because of things like this
Think about it, probably 95% of posts in that past 2 hours have been about team EG, that's pretty good publicity
|
I don't understand how your questions weren't answered in the relevant threads, or how this is enough to warrant a thread on its own rather than just a reply to one of the other topics.

If the close to six-figure salary that was rumored on Reddit is true, then it's definitely life changing. Imagine that he had been making 6 figures for the past year. That would have instantly put him in the leagues of MC and Nestea in terms of overall earnings from SC2.

Yes....that was originally the plan too. I really hope Tyler comes out of Huk's shadow in SC2 and reduce the impact of Huk leaving.

All this really means is that you were not following anyone except HuK. You have no real interest in TL, for you it was just the team HuK was playing for.

If I could give your post 1 star, then I would, because you obviously didn't read the OP. He is sad about huk leaving liquid, but understands huk's motivation (a "life-changing" offer) and EG's decision as a business. He also questions the amount of hype EG put into this, given that it would be a polarizing decision.

If you are a fan of a player, why do you care about what team he is on?

I really think fans that use this as a reason to dislike him are really out of touch with reality. Am I dissapointed? Hell yes. However, he has a life that he needs to live, and money is a big part of life. He even said he would be willing to stay with Liquid for much less money than other teams offered because of how fond he was of Liquid, but the offer EG made was just too good.
I am taking this opportunity to be happy for Huk. Congrats on the big new contract, and I hope you do well in EG!
I will still be a fan of Liquid. I will still be a fan of Huk. Hopefully this dissapointment will lead into bigger better things for SC2 and ESports in general. Huk fighting!

I wonder when EG's going to stop buying other teams' best players and start cultivating their own talent.Their best three players are all bought from other teams whilst their "core" has been mediocre forever.
