Liquid bought HuK from Millennium. It happens. Being a fan of a player is much better than being a fan of a business (team).

TL's team is more than just a business.

And HuK going from TL to another team isn't really what people are upset about.

Do you think anybody would be upset if he left for oGs or SlayerS or even FXO? Most of us would be happy for him, I know I would be wishing him all the best for one.

Don't you think there's a reason that guys that are generally super nice and mannered in basically every single situation say things like:

"I would sooner cut my throat than join EG" (TLO)
"I would sooner quit SC than join EG" (Jinro)
"They are a joke team and I would never get involved with them" (Tyler)

I would be happy for HuK if he accepted any offer in the world (even to join a Dota 2 team ), but not this one.

EG is the Real Madrid of Esports while TL is the Manchester United of Esports.

Many people underestimate the significance of this offer for HuK. If Nazgul says it's "life changing" this means that HuK has the chance to actually not only make a decent living off gaming for another year, but long-term instead, be it by earnings or savings. The added prestige and media presence may even help getting him a job after his career as a gamer is over.

99% of all users in this forum, if not 100%, would take the same opportunity if something similar would appear in their lives. Don't kid yourself. Just think about what this means for Chris, and think in longer terms than just a few months.

For EG, it probably has already paid off. So much media exposure from the hype alone makes the sponsors happy and thus EG as well. The returns HuK may net through tournament appearances, wins and spearheading the korean training house are huge and a brilliant publicity stunt from the team.

It's ok to be upset if you're a fan ... for like 15 minutes. Then reflect what this means for HuK, EG and how you would react in the same position.

Meh. Kinda hate how EG always goes for established player but I understand the decision.

But at the same time, it's kinda cold towards the Machine, Axslav and Co. Isn't it like giving up on them and the progaming house since they are sending their best players to Korea.

Also why is there no farewell message from Ret and Tyler? I thought tyler was really close to HuK ( ok that's probably why)

If you are a fan of TL, then it's okay to feel upset about the deal even after 15 minutes; it's natural. I'm happy for HuK to get an opportunity like this. It's like if Jordan had left the Bulls and you expect the fans of the team to be content with it like nothing happened. You can still be upset and understanding at the same time. Being upset in situations like this just means you realize how much HuK meant to a lot of people and what an asset he is to a team.

To me, I'm happy for HuK to get this opportunity but sad at same time as TL is my favorite team. This also is an end of a great rivalry that is HuK and IdrA. I also dislike the EG organization even before they picked up sc2 players, back in 1.6 times, so I'll just semi-root for HuK. Another positive from this is that IdrA is going to Korea, which I'm pretty excited about.

Yea, good publicity, sure. How will this make 10k, 50k or 100k for them? That's what I was asking in OP.

I will still be a fan of Liquid. I will still be a fan of Huk. Hopefully this dissapointment will lead into bigger better things for SC2 and ESports in general. Huk fighting!

You are right, that's probably the right attitude. However, I'm more fan of TL than anything and I'm sure I wouldn't be so big of a fan of HuK if he hadn't joined liquid.

All this really means is that you were not following anyone except HuK. You have no real interest in TL, for you it was just the team HuK was playing for.

Rofl, a guy who's here for 5 months will tell me how small or big is my interest in TL. Don't you think that if it was the way you suggest, I wouldn't care at all about HuK changing a team?!

how can you even say such thing? Who sent him to Korea? Who was supporting him when everyone thought he wasn't even good for code A? The skill progress he made was only possible because he stayed in korean prohouse.

In the scheme of things, he was on TL for one year, and SC2 has been out for one year, so he's been pretty much on TL for the entirety of sc2's esport lifespan so far.

I'm sorry, but when have either of them ever said those kinds of things? Those quotes seem way out of character, especially given Tyler's relationship with iNcontroL. Even googling for such quotes only pops one result: your post.

It's fine to dislike EG and HuK's move to EG, but don't attribute such weird and inappropriate quotes to such manner players. The closest thing I could scavenge is TLO saying that EG lived up to the "Evil" part of their name in the whole puma/milkis attack incident (here). That's still a far cry from saying he'd rather commit suicide than join EG.

[Edit]: I'm glad you appreciate the manner-ness of TL as we all do, but I don't see why such statements are "out of character." Especially Tyler's - I'm glad he's friends with Inc, but as tons of people have said, not liking a team is much different from not liking the individual members of that team. It's more beef with their management and whatnot. But given the fact that it is a sad issue for them, and the whole environment of TL as a family, it's understandable for TL members to have such thoughts.

That covers the TLO one, thanks for the source. Do you know where Tyler's is, if it actually happened?

In response to your edit, it's not often that you hear TLO saying he'd kill himself. In fact, I think that was the first time anyone on TL has seen it. I'd call that the very definition of "out of character", which makes it hard to believe without a source. I didn't mean to upset anyone by calling "liar", so I didn't.

TLO's statement is hyperbole, the point is not about killing himself, the point is that he feels very strongly that he'd never join EG.

I don't know where the attributed Tyler statement comes from - maybe sotg? But he definitely seems inclined to feel that way towards EG:

I have one question Tyler, did you listen/watch the episode? Just want to know if i should point you to it for answers on some points of your post.

Yes of course I listened to it, but I also have listened to what AG and EG have said in public countless other times, and there have been countless lies and deceptions and mistruths. Perhaps I didn't point out how many points we have to distrust AG on in order to accept my read on the situations but that's a really tiresome process and people are just going to be split on siding with AG/EG if they're ignorant of their history of lies or siding with me if they trust me and/or aren't ignorant of their history of lies.
