Summer eating

Easily my favorite time for cooking, summer offers some of the best food. It's the simple stuff that makes it so good; the raspberries and tomatoes and everything else. I never realized how fortunate I was to grow up in a family that ate healthy and grew some of their own vegetables in their backyard. From raspberries to squash to green beans, it was nice to enjoy some food you helped grow. It's natural and just plain simple. I finally became grateful of my luck when living on my own. Food changes when you have to cook it yourself. And while loving to cook, my love for the summer greatly increased.

And tonight I had one of those great simple meals. Cherry tomatoes are in full season and damn, are they good. Summer calls for grilling and nothing better than some chicken on the grill. Throw it over a salad with avocado, mushrooms, peppers, and the works. Let's not forget a nice summer beer. Harpoon or Magic Hat to hit the spot nice.

But that's not it. Fruit salad. Bananas, raspberries, watermelon, strawberries, and a peach. Throw in some ice cream on top. Or if you want it with yogurt and granola. A meal fit for a king.

I ate half a bag of doritos followed by 3slices of pizza and a beer.

Meal fit for a king. Your meal for a "fit" king.

I've been recently loving my own snack/meal.

Dark-Toasted English Muffins with the craters filled with melted butter and then layed with two whole spreads of chicken salad with added chives. Diced onions sprinkled and then I add green grapes for a tangy zest that somehow mixes quite well with the heavy mayo taste and a dash of paper.

Very tasty :3

I've experimented with dif. fruits and meats together. I've found that watermelon sticks with a thin strip of black forest ham wrapped around it drizzled with hoisin sauce is actually surprisingly delicious.

Less is more when it comes to food.

I used to eat a big bag of potato chips while watching GSL. Now I'll eat like 3 punnets of strawberries or maybe even some olives (I don't care what Tasteless says, olives are great).

I ate a pizza buffet to get rid of my hangover after drinking 4 cases of beer in 4 days. I am also going to the store here to get some chips that I have been craving for like 5 years. Sometimes I wonder how I am still fat.
