Sheet Music + iTunes

Alright I'm extremely biased and have extremely evil motives but... you gotta "trust" me on this one.

I think it would be a godsend if sheet music is scanned and made available for purchase online on iTunes. I'm a musician and specifically for me, finding and buying sheet music is the one thing keeping me from playing more often / practicing. "Specifically I want trumpet sheet music / Bernstein!!!"

I want to play and enjoy music without having to deal with the trivialities of ordering sheet music or whatever D:< Also from a business perspective, I think it's pretty damn viable. Digitizing things pretty much makes it extremely cheap to sell to other people, and I feel the ease of access will increase the demand for sheet music / perhaps being in a new era of musicians!! >: D "well maybe"

What do you guys think? I mean... secretly I want sheet music to be scanned and made online in a digital form because it would then become easy to pirate... but I swear I'll make buy all my sheet music!

For classical pieces, just use
http://imslp.org/wiki/Category:Composers

All free.
I know I as a cellist/pianist, I NEVER have even the slightest problem finding sheet music for anything I want....so maybe you just need to improve your google-fu.

I can't wait to see ipads on music stands instead of sheet music. Scrambling through sheet music in orchestra was so annoying, especially while trying to keep a double bass in the other hand.

You know what, I completely agree... I've learned to use tab since free sheet music was removed but it's just not even nearly as efficient.
It doesn't have to be iTunes, but any hub for sheet music with all genres on it, something that is kept up to date, would be fantastic.

I use http://www.musicnotes.com to download my sheet music. There are loads of other sites just like that one where you can find music as well.

If you watch Dream Theater's "The Spirit Carries On" on YouTube, you can already see those guys using ipads instead of music during their rehearsal. I think if you have enough money, you can make that a reality.
