Hello,
This blog is to express my sentiments about recent events involving iCCup administration and the ISL2. I have cleared my mind a bit so it doesn't come out too rough, I would ask iCCup admins to please not post as this isn't a place for you to debate anything(any admin posting will be banned from my blog). This might be incoherent and a relatively rough read, don't get hooked up on wording and stuff.
So,
I've been working with LRM)Game for the past little while in the organization of certain things and I can tell how much time and effort he had put into the ISL. iCCup paints a rather nasty image of game, however I think if you use anyone's gamer profiles as your basis on whether they are a good person or not, well you'd find that 99% are quite mean/arrogant. I would like to make it clear that this character profile is not at all an accurate representation. I've been working my way up in organizing stuff for BW for the past while and I have noticed it is difficult to deal with iCCup, if you say one thing that they judge to be "inappropriate", you're put under heavy magnifying glass. They use personal grudges and what not to make their decisions(this is obvious in this case). So, on the other hand, Game has been pretty much the most helpful person I've known in the BW community, I first talked with him about doing interviews/writeup for the original ISL semi-finals, since then, he's been answering any questions I have concerning sponsorship letters, organizing and any other inquiry I had about tournament hosting and the BW community. Need not say, I did not ever get this generosity or anything from iccup. To be fair, most things that are said about iccup are well deserved, also, some that have gotten people banned have actually brought change.
As for Paladin, I may not be giving him much of a chance being as he is a really new iccup admin, but he told me he didn't want to get caught up on who said what situations from the past and just move on to help the community... Being as this was obviously a lie, I cannot attribute any respect to the man whatsoever, not even beginner's forgiveness.
Long story short,
Game is bm and causes many of his problems, but he's not a bad guy and he is the best at what he does. No one is matching his tournaments.
iCCup is greedy as fuck to think they can claim ownership of a tournament that was entirely organized by Game.
iCCup is getting more compensation than any of the sponsors(How is this realistically okay?).
iCCup acts based on grudges.
I am a sponsor for ISL2 and I wish to point out that I do not approve of the situation, however since everyone knows who arranged the tournament, Game still gets full credit from the community.
Dear iCCup team, thank you for spending many hours keeping a server online and running nicely, however it is in vein if you do not correct key public relations. I will not be related in anyway to any iccup event or anything occurring on iccup server(sorry NW team canada, GL to you).

If teams would be interested in a free CL on USWest, I would get that launched as well(if I see the interest)
I will try to get sponsors for any CL I organize, however I will probably not know before the season being as I think it'd be easier if we get a viewer count first.

Huh..... from reading your blog, I do believe you have a valid message to be said. Try PMing a mod or admin to see if they'll allow this to be front paged.
Since you're defending the image of someone who is being mistakenly hated, I think this blog is very valid.

It's very biased, and he apologize to [NW] Canada team when myself has yet to hear anything he would've done for us anyway. The true comments are that ; Game doesn't deal with people in the best manner, and new admins, who shouldn't be very biased towards him as they don't have many previous engagements with him, are dictating what he is now able to do for/on the server.
We understand that Game is trying hard to make the community active and there are many problems with the ICCup server. However, rage warring every chance you get in the forums doesn't really help. You say that ICCup admins cant post in this blog, you know what's going to happen? (or maybe they won't even care) they will just open their own blog and retaliate in the same manner.
I guess that was a long rant , Points:
- Mostly everyone posting these opinions is biased
- Too much Drama
Let's just get along already, these topics are detrimental to the community

I really never managed to get a grip of the entire situation so I don't know what and how much I've missed and hence I'm not eligable to hate on the ICCup admin crew, but I do know one thing, an unmistakable fact. Game is the best tournament organizer and he is one of the most important people in keeping the foreigner BW-scene alive.

Truthfully, I think he should be allowed to host tourneys just because he's trying to keep BW alive( a game myself, and others on TL really love)
If he can keep the game going for a few more years then more power to him.

Game definitely has done lots of bming around TL and even during casts for ISL 1, but nobody else is putting together tournaments with hundreds of dollars in prize money for bw. It's kind of like how Idra periodically gets banned from TL for a few days, even though he's said things that would earn a 200 post noobie a perm ban, because TL recognizes that he is important to the community. ICCup should just cut a deal with Game saying they'll support the tournament unless he says something bad about their organization, surely he can just stfu for the sake of the ISL tournament...

Somewhat agree.
Let me clarify,
1) This blog isn't bias in any way, I could have made it bias, but I don't think it would accomplish anything, what I said is Game can be a jerk as any gamer can, you of all people should know BM is part of sports and games. Stating someone I've known for 2 months is a nice person with good intentions... doesn't get more bias than that? I can tell he means good for the community, he just doesn't express his iccup frustrations correctly.
2) iCCup team doesn't do a terrible job, but they don't fix anything without being threatened in some way, if you haven't noticed iCCupCL has been fading, ladder has been fading. They have people trying to help but they're not given enough breathing room = frustration = they break out remarks = admins get angry = they tighten up their grip = more frustration and its just continuous. They need to be more open with event creators.
3) Yes, Game has a big enough record against him to be perma-banned, but most of the admins also have enough of a record to be perma-banned except for the fact that they're admins. So really, lets put swords away and agree we all make mistakes. I'm Jesus, I forgive anyone as long as they own up to their shit.
4) Things like what iCCup did in taking the ISL2 from the top organizer in foreign BW is what is really detrimental to BW.
5) What I meant is I did not post this to start a debate, I just want to clear things up from a better perspective. I don't care if admins post here, I just don't want them to post anything defending their server because we all know, neither parties have anything good to say about their part in this, both are offering a service, both have done wrong, only thing they can argue as the other has done worse. When you get to this point, you need to stop debating, shake hands and agree that you probably wont ever like each other no matter what, yet even if you don't like each other you both see the right thing to do. That is this hand shake, knowing there will be BM on both sides and still doing what is right for the community.
I saw a couple analogies while reading, so I'd like to modify one of them into something I judge to be a slight bit more accurate,
You're running an event hall in a small town, you have someone who organizes talent shows and the occasional huge concert for your hall. He asks for nothing in return, you profit greatly from huge population booms. Without him, you just have your same old daily events which people are getting bored of and attendance is gradually dropping. You don't like the man because he bad mouths you to everyone in town. Do you take the events and save what is left in the community's theater or do you let the theater die out and leave the community without the art?

Surprised I didn't see this, I lurk on TL actively. There is no point in posting anything about iCCup here for me, they've already made themselves look as bad as humanly possible. The only attempt to save face was to allow the tournament (and by save face I mean their server) while ostracizing me. It's fine though, as Oh.Canada said, we know what the truth is. This is just a small road block, as me and the people who work with me are clearly a big enough organization to be spotlighted by an entire servers staff that have generally never even interacted with me, just been persuaded by 2-3 of their co-admins that have a passionate vendetta against me. On that note, we are a large enough organization to work around iCCup in the future and continue to provide BW with great events. That is all. Thanks for your support guys, I sincerely appreciate it and enjoy the motivation to work harder and further, as I know the people who work with me also do.

I would just like to say, I apologize to any admin who was offended by this yet not involved, I know its not all of you who are involved with this and if you aren't don't be offended. You can even post here saying you aren't involved if its the truth. If when I say "iccup team" I mean what was stated by the iccup representatives, this might not be you even if you are an admin. and if you are offended by what your representatives have done, then maybe you should consider doing something about it.
