Well, after months of my parents complaining to me about it, I finally cleaned my room.
I didn't take before pictures, so I will just describe what my room was like. Firstly, the gap between my bed and the wall was full of garbage ranging from pop bottles to soda cracker sleeves to popcorn bags. My desk and dresser were topped with a layer of dust, only interrupted by the bunch of glasses/cans/drink containers that were placed there and forgotten. The floor was a complete mess, popcorn pieces everywhere, game parts out and about, dirty clothes under every step.
My parents got tired of me living in a "pigsty", so they said I needed to clean the room before I got to use the computer again. I knew I had to clean it eventually, so I took the opportunity and did it.
I started with getting rid of all the empty popcorn bags I had lying around, as well as most of the garbage behind my bed (theres a space between my bed and the wall where stuff can fall through, I have a habit of putting garbage there.) After that I gathered up all the socks I found on the floor as well as all the other misc clothes. I threw them into a clothes basket and brought em downstairs so they can be put through the laundry. I gathered most of the books I found on the floor, and either put them in my under-bed shelf or threw them out. I got rid of most of the paper, and at that point it was a matter of making things neat and vacuuming. I cleared out the last bit of garbage, and vacuumed the room. I after it was over, I was glad I managed to clean it all up, as now I could actually walk around the room.
Here are some pictures after the cleaning:

As you can see, I still have a bit more to do (on the walls), but I am really satisfied I finally got around to this.
Edit: And no, I had nothing better to blog about, but I am really bored so I needed to do something

Sounds a lot cleaner, although you really need to clean up those wires I am so OCD about making sure wires aren't showing.

Speaking of cleaning rooms.....I should probably clean mine D:!

Should've taken a "before" picture so we'd have something for comparison.

Did mom do your laundry for you? that doesn't count.

The pictures you posted look filthy, I'm scared to think what your room looked like before you cleaned it @_@

This, lol
Those carpets make me cringe, and the walls look like you pissed on them. Multiple times.

How could you stand to live in your before condition? I ask this out of honest curiosity.

Fix your wires. Your room will look much better without those things going all over the place.

There's a girl like that in the place where I live right now. Her room is tiny and windowless, but she leaves all her clothing in a heap shoved up at the end of her bed, her desk is covered in garbage including old food (congealed tubs of rice, old orange peels etc.) She lives like a pig even though she must be at least eighteen. Also it stinks (I know all this because she leaves her door open a lot.)
I saw an older woman (her mother I guess) tidying it a week ago whilst she stood around on her cellphone watching. Two days later it was back to looking like a garbage dump. If she was my daughter I'd probably make her eat the food she leaves to go rotten >.>
It sounds pretty picky, but tbh I really look down upon people who can't even keep their rooms tidy. It's a health hazard (in some cases) it smells vile, and it can't be much fun for any friends/etc brought back to hang out in it. All it takes is a few minutes every few days, and not saying 'Oh, I'll tidy it up later.' to keep your room looking nice enough to show others, and clean enough to live in.
I do everything (hoovering, dusting, laundry.) on a Sunday whilst making sure to clean my dishes as soon as I've finished eating, and to tidy up any mess as it's made. It's hardly a massive commitment.
You did the right thing ^_^

anyone else feels like some "before" pics would help a lot in judging the amount of work done? *g*

I did vacuum my carpet, it is just extremely faded and stained.
About the cables, I probably should figure a way to make them all neat. There is only 3 outlet spots in my room, and one of those is mostly blocked by my bed.
The walls are dirty, I know, and I may get to that eventually, but right now it is not my top priority.
Before I cleaned, I knew my room was getting pretty disgusting, but I procrastinated and made excuses why I didn't clean it. I wasn't happy with the way it was, but I didn't want to spend the time cleaning it.
The cars on my shelf are mostly random, but on top of the shelf are 3 Dodge Vipers and 3 Corvettes.
I wish I did take before pics. I might have some pictures of my room before I cleaned it last time, If I can find those I will post them (as I am guessing it was just as bad).

That would be nice, If I had money to do it ._.
Anyways, small update, I cleaned my walls a bit with a wet cloth, as well as re-organised my shelf to make it look less cluttered. My to-do list for the next week is to clean up the cables around my room (the ones that never leave the room, can't do much about my computer/hard drive cables), Re-organize the stuff in my drawers, dust off the Tv/other stuff and more around a few things on the wall.
