Hello, i am in high diamond currently rank 6 right now. whenever i get this high in diamond i always..........ALWAYS.... get cheesed back down to rank 10. it never fails. ever game i play after i get in top 8 i never get a game past 6 mins. its always a 7 pool or marine scv allin or cannon or whatever else you can think of. it is really frustrating and i am wondering if everyone higher that that is just terrible and all they do is cheese because this is how it seems to me.
anyone else having these problems? so far right now im in top 8 and have fended off three all ins so far and counting. to tired to play now i don't wanna have to defend cheese while i cant think very or react very fast as i really want to get into masters really bad.

You think people don't cheese in masters or grandmasters??? Defending against cheese (this means making your opening builds safe early game) is an important skill to have. If youre openers arent safe then people will cheese you and succeed.
|
same for me... or moreless the fact that i switch races allthe time....however 7pools and cannon rushes are easy to counter, practice makes best. And im guessing the people in top diamond would be playing are low master league ... " people who cant beat proper master leaguers and cheese to try get few points "..
marine scv all in = op

I'm in masters. LOL.
Play smart = don't die to cheese

This is what ladder is for, you need to be ready for anything since you don't know what your opponent is capable of at all. Be diligent about scouting. There's really nothing else that stops cheese better than knowing its coming and preparing properly.
You're Protoss right? If you're really quite worried, develop a cheese proof build. 3 Gate Sentry expand is a good example. Lots of forcefields will completely deny your opponent access to your ramp while your goal is a fairly fast expansion so you won't be behind.
Open standard with a zealot first and then mass sentries afterwards. Very sturdy indeed.
Masters level Terran here btw.

hey guess what???? cheesed to rank 10 again this game is terrble
|
Hey, like your sig says, keep on trying!
Being able to defend cheesey stuff is important, anyway, so it's good practice.
|
hmm, I haven't experianced the cheese fest you describe at rank 3 diamond.
Oh yeah, I was the one cheesing.
|
If you want to get better, practice If you want to be cheese proof, ladder Simple as that (also the cheese in master are just better, not less frequent )
|
I think it might help to find a practice partner (doesn't really matter who, not hard to execute a 7 pool), play standard until you scout it, then rush to defend against it until you feel safe and confident against any cheese.
|
That's all I do in High-Diamond. I'm Rank 1 Diamond playing Master's and I'm going to baneling bust them guess what they're doing? SCV Marine all-in
|
Cheese is all you really find in SC2 ladder at any level.
It doesn't decrease in frequency, it just gets harder to deal with because the player cheesing you is better.

How this is worthy of a blog post really perplexes me.

I'm rank two in diamond, and the other day had somebody try to go 3 stargate on one base. He didn't put up the Stargates until about 9 minutes in when he finally killed my scouting drone. But, alas, I saw the stargates as his zealots didn't make a tight wall. He proceeded to continue with a one-base mothership build.
