Ok, so I was a diamond player throughout Beta. I have been a Diamond Zerg and a Diamond Protoss throughout release. But recently I have hit so hard a wall, that im freaking getting worse as I play.
I was top 2 Diamond all season so far, and the last 2 gaming sessions I have had I have just gone on completely negative terrible streaks and I am not sure wtf is going on. I have somehow managed to get worse the more time I put into this game, and when I start losing it is just all down-hill from there.
I am one of those VERY VERY rare people who actually wants to get better in diamond, because I want to be able to compete in Masters without just cheesing every game.
(BTW anyone who cheeses in Diamond is the SCUM of the community. I will say it loudly and proudly, and if you cheese in your league below Diamond you deserve to be punched in your testicles until your future children become retarded. Because congratulations for wasting your own and your opponents time, if he is interested in getting better. I understand that learning to defend cheese is part of the game.. but when you play 10 games and 9 are cheeses and the other is a 1 base all-in it makes you feel like your wasting your time)
Anyways I have been top 3 consistantly in my league, but over the past week have dropped to number 30 in my division and here is why:
PvZ: all they do is Roach Ling/Baneling all in
PvT: I have not seen a Terran throw down a 2nd Command Center in 3 weeks. Thor Marine with all of the SCV's repairing. Raven Tank Marine push. MMM all in. Marine SCV all-in. HAVE NOT SEEN A TERRAN DO ANYTHING BUT 1 BASE ALL IN IN 2 freaking weeks!
and PvP: so ya there is this build called a 4gate... it happens in 90% of your games.
PvRandom: 6pool, 4 gate, 1 Base all-in described previously.
Whenever i get the 1 macro game out of 50 I usually win, because this is where I am comfortable and actually enjoy playing.
UGH I am just feeling completely defeated because I want to improve at this game, but I havent faced an opponent in 2 weeks on ladder who wants to play a game longer than 10 mins. O and I have absolutely NO IDEA WTF TO DO VS A FUCKING TERRAN ALL-IN ON ONE BASE. I have tried getting fast colossu = loss. Tried getting Zealot Legs= loss. Tried to stay on one base and get to 130 supply KNOWING that he is just 1-base all-inning and I lost. Got Fast Colossus and still lost... no idea. And this is all I have seen in 2 weeks. Have not seen a 2nd CC in 2 weeks from Terran, cause why should they, turns out marines are fucking awsome and are only countered by Toss's strongest fucking unit: the Colossus or his 2nd top level unit: the Templar who needs energy and has to research his only useful spell against MMM to do something. AWSOME.
So Protoss vs Terran 1base all-in what am i supposed to fucking do here?
And i understand vs Zerg my new choices = DT expand or expand behind 2-3 cannons. (and FFE i know but u cant ffe on xel naga or metalopolis or shattered temple.
Or am I just supposed to play like the rest of the top of diamond plays and just 1 base all-in every game... like 4gating every game game after game after game after game...
Tried to ladder tonight, got 6 matches, 5 PvP's and a Terran 1base all-in. WHAT AN AWSOME FUCKING NIGHT.
And anyone who says, "lolol just solid mechanics will get you into masters" you are full of shit, because every fucking moron on the ladder just copies some Pro's 1 base all-in strat and thats all they do.
So if you are a Protoss player... wtf do you do vs the inevitable 1 base all-in that comes from Terran. Because it's all i have seen in 2 weeks from them.

Cheesing is part of the game and even progamers do it. Stop sucking and learn to play against it.

You aren't the only Protoss who wants to get to the late game, where it just so happens that 'toss is strongest. Is it any wonder the other players want to stop you?
And as for PvP, the way the matchup revolves around 4gating is nothing new.

This makes no sense, you know exactly what information you need to improve and yet you feel defeated and rage. I'm sure you can see this is counter-productive.
Whenever you feel like you lost to something stupid on ladder, just remember that all the top players went through the exact same situation and continued playing until they got to be as good as they are now.

Well thanks for your worthless post. Where you didnt answer any question I asked. You wrote "learn to play against cheese" where I said I don't have a problem beating it its just annoying when thats all you see.
1 base all-ins are easy to stop yet your still diamond. Good tip on how to stay at the same level I am. Your insightfulness was extremely helpful and legitimate. I loved the L2P part from a guy who isn't even better than me. That is awsome. Seriously what an amazing post, loved it.
So thanks for saying that Cheese is a part of the game. I'm wondering as well what the best response is to thors with 50 SCVS repairing (as a toss). Even if I have bigger armies it seems really hard to out-damage the mass-repair.

lol what do you expect will happen in higher leagues? That people will suddenly play late macro games? Fuck no, you're going to get all-ined by players with even better execution.
PS: 4gate PvP is an opener, the rest of PvP is a transition from that point. Get used to the idea.

If money isn't an issue then consider getting an EU account.
In my (admittedly somewhat limited) experience you're much more likely to get a macro game on EU, and the skill level at diamond is noticeably better.
That aside - that's not the only reason I recommend it. I've found it mentally helpful to switch over to a different "practice" account when I get frustrated with the kind of games I'm having. I'm also far less attached to points etc on my alt account so I find it easier to focus on particular things I want to improve, experiment with different strategies, offrace, etc.

KR server is also supposed to be a lot less stupid like that. I hear that at least at the masters level very few people just go for stupid coin flip free win strategies and instead just execute standard builds very very very cleanly.

Ladder is cheese fest. Better get use to it.
I got baneling or roach busted as terran 5/6 games today. Though I did not lose in all of them, winning against it doesn't feel nearly as good as winning a macro game. Not to mention that losing to it is 10 times worse than losing in a macro game.

Really? I thought KR had the worst kind of blood pressure raising, well executed cheeses and allins of any server. I'd be curious to try it out firsthand if it weren't such a pita to get a Korean acc.

Well thanks to the useful 3-4 people who actually posted. To the people who came here to "poke the bear" are just amazing people who revel in other peoples' frustrations. Thanks for nothing and not helping me at all with the problem.
To the guy who said play BW: I love BW and always will love BW but honestly i truely deeply feel that being good at that game is beyond me...as well as 99% of the SC2 community, whereas this game i KNOW i can get into Grand Masters.
To the people who are having the same problem with 1 base all-in this is my new response that I am stealing from Artosis/Minigun that I have seen them both do. Minigun goes 2 gate expand regardless. You can be safe from a 1 base terran timing involving tanks/thors with this build.
Trick to killing the 1 base all-in. If you know its coming throw down your forge, get your armor upgrades asap. Also if its Siege tanks Chargelots with +1 armor are highly beneficial. This is my new response: super fast upgrades instead of going to colossus tech on 1 base. If you are worried about Banshee timings ur fast forge for fast upgrades = put 1 cannon in each mineral line.
For the people who say "they still 1 base all-in in masters" thanks for nothing and wasting both of our time by posting. For the retard who said people still 4gate in Masters. Thanks for not reading the OP at all and saying what I said: people 4gate in pvp period.
