So lately I've been fiddling around and gotten my hands into Android development. I figured that I'd start up with a simple app and what better way to keep me motivated than to make it Starcraft themed? Since the app has neared completion I thought I'd share the news with TL and hope some of you may be bored enough to give it a try. Being my first app and all I know there are bound to be bugs and show-stoppers hidden in there somewhere (also don't have my own android device to test on so most of testing is done on the emulator), so feedback is greatly appreciated.
So what is this mysterious Starcraft app? As the title says its essentially an app to test your knowledge of unit / upgrade hotkeys from the various races. Depending on the difficulty level chosen, you will be presented with a number of structures from which you must build a randomly generated sequence of units / upgrades by touching the correct hotkeys. Overtime, each of your buildings will lose hp and the only way to regain it is to build the correct sequence of units.
I know that most of you TL pros already have every hotkey seared into your brains, but maybe those of you who are taking up a new race / just started playing recently may find this app useful. Even so, I think it may even be challenging to a few vets who know their stuff since there is some memory work involved as the levels increase.
I present to you the Hotkey Training App: https://market.android.com/details?id=xyik.creations.starcraft&feature=search_result

Cool idea and tech, but I don't think this will help you. If you have to think about the word void ray and then think about what hotkey it is, your really slow. It should be instinct that when you feel voidrays are needed, your finger is already spamming V, without you having to think about the hotkey. Hotkeys should be muscle memory, not recalling.
As for the upper levels, the trivia could be fun! Wish i had an android phone to actually try it out.

Dang! It looks pretty cool... Unfortunately I don't have an android to test it on. Great idea though! Hopefully it works as good as it looks!!!!

That's really cool. It has some way to go but it's very promising and exactly what I need.
I've only tried it for a few minutes but here are some suggestions: I'm not sure if I like the queueing thing and I sort of prefer the way the hotkey trainer map works (ie switch to random upgrades/units and demand a hotkey).
As Chimpalimp said it's more muscle memory than the conscious hotkey so it might be worth relying on a qwerty setup rather than only offering a few buttons. It might be difficult fitting it but at least it's somewhat closer to the real thing.
Also, where are the hotkeys for buildings?

Thanks for the feedback guys. Did you try the game out on hard difficulty brijan? The reason I am using the queuing system was to make it more like how it is to actually build units from a building in Starcraft. On medium / hard difficulty you have to build out of 3 / 5 different buildings so you shouldn't really have to wait for your queue to clear or anything. Unfortunately I don't have any building hotkeys in there yet, but am considering that for the future.
I know that this is no substitute from practicing hotkeys in a real game, thats why I kinda figured there was no point giving the user a qwerty keyboard. Its meant to be more of a fun way to refresh your memory of hotkeys through a game. I appreciate all the comments and feedback so far, thanks a lot

Oh are you supposed to build from multiple buildings simultaneously? I didn't realise : /.
I was thinking it would be like that custom map where it just brings up a random upgrade/unit/building and need to press the correct hotkey as fast as possible.

O_O i dont think about these things. If i want to make an overlord I will think "make an overlord" and do whats nesecary to make an overlord. Same concept applies to different things like goign mutas/being aggressive
