So I don't know what's wrong with me. About two weeks ago, I was mid-plat, and I had absolutely no problem dealing with Diamond players, I rarely missed a larva inject, spreaded that creep really well, I had good micro/macro etc...but about 4 days ago, half-awake, I asked my silver buddy if he wanted to 1v1 so that I could warm up and be fully awaken. I lost the first game. Out of over 50 games, I never lost a game against him, but I was not really surprised because I still half-asleep. So we went for another game, and I lost that one too. Now I was kinda worried. Anyway, I get really frustrated when I lose 2 games in a row, so I took a few hours off.
Logged in, laddered, lost 5 games in a row. Logged out, took the night off because of frustration. Yesterday I tried laddering again, I kept losing. I was on this really awesome losing streak and no one could stop me from maintaining that streak. My larva injection timing was terrible, I don't scout anymore, I have terrible macro/micro.
So I checked the profiles of my opponents, and as embarassing as this may seem, I was being matched to silver leagues. So I pretty much went from "Being able to beat Diamonds" to "Losing to silver leagues" within 48 hours. It's like I don't even know this game anymore! My apm has dropped tremendously, and my micro is awful, I'm constantly missing my larva injections and not even scouting...it's like i'm back to beta phase.
My gears are definitely not broken. Am I broken?

Off day/days.
Sometimes it just feels like you're watching someone else play and he's messing everything up. You feel rushed, overwhelmed and whatnot and then it just snowballs.
A little break doesn't hurt, you've mostly just got to lose that feeling of helplessness and come back with a clear head.
PS. Look on the bright side, you won't be matched up against anything but silvers and you, in a normal state don't seem to have too much trouble with those.

It's a savior slump!! oh noes!!!
it's really probably too much playing that wore you out
|
play something else for a day or two.
|
Yeah, take a few days off. I often play random and I have the same problem sometimes as zerg, where on a good day I will never miss an inject, and on a bad day my queen will have 150 energy and I just get frustrated. Or as protoss, I'll FORGET (facepalm) to build my cyber core after my gateway finishes, or forget to research warpgate for 30 seconds or so.
If you're beating high level players, then that's how good of a player you are. A slump does not define you.
|
Just take a break. Come back swinging. (last weekend couldn't play for beans, this week am like 3-1)

Decent theories, but doesn't something strike you as odd? "It's just a slump", or "playing too much"... They sound like reasonable theories.
Maybe *too* reasonable...
Here's the truth. There is a massive conspiracy going on here, and I don't know how deep it goes. Diamond players are dropping to plat, plat to silver, but for what? Someone... Or something... Is leeching skill out of innocent players for their own nefarious purposes. Probably someone who is looking for a quick skill boost, a junkie of sports. Someone who doesn't have the time to acquire skill the "standard" way (you know, practice, etc).
Look, I've already said too much. There are forces at work here beyond your control. I've been following this for awhile, but it's been escalating recently... A couple of weeks ago, people were just complaining about losing a couple games to builds they knew how to counter, but now... It's something different. Whoever is behind this is taking bigger risks than before. They are running out of time.
But what? What's the ticking clock that drives these... Vampires... To action? I have a theory, but it's almost too big to say... I don't want them to find me here. But I'll give you a hint. Whoever did this too you probably only had a few days left, which means they well strike again soon. Probably only... 5 days, 17 hours. They are running out of time to prepare, so watch out. It could be any of them...
I've said too much. The rest is up to you. Beware the 32

Wow man, that's the only match history i've ever seen that makes mine look good!
I'd suggest taking some time out from playing 1v1. Maybe chill out with some friends for a few days in team games, play some FFA, off race etc. All of these help to break up the rut for me.
EDIT: And mad props to the detective above, why didn't i think of this before?!

Yeah, FFAs help me a lot. A less-pressured environment (meaning it isn't ranked) with more potential threats (3 players, up to 3 races) makes your game improve because you get back to basic macro.

They must have targeted you because of your username. Maybe that's the connection between the victims that I've been searching for...

Happens to us all.
I went 3-17 the other day. Took a day off, spent some time with my g/f, came back two days later and went 11-3.
Starcraft is a very cerebral game. If your head's not in the right place, your play won't be either.

I noticed that when I started actually taking my ADD medicine I went from being supply blocked often to almost never, now if only I could actually go to sleep too =/

Take a break and it'll work itself out in a few days.
|
I lost like 7 games in a row for no reason at all. I think we've all been there. Just lay off the SC and come back when you feel better. Take a break, watch TV, work out, or just do anything. Laddering in a bad state of mind is just like asking for more.
Also, leagues are sticky, so you are probably playing people who are showing that they deserve a promotion instead of being tested for a promotion yourself. Don't let it get to you.

I came back from a 3 week business trip and I lost like 15 games in a row.
I was so pissed I played WoW. How bad is that
