Need Community Feedback Please

Hey guys, it's been a long time since I posted a blog. Most of you, if you know me at all, know me from the casts I do with my daughter 'Stargirl'.

Most of my channel vods are dedicated to low level players and a somewhat analytical casting style. However lately I have been trying to do a little more pro-level casting.

I have been working a lot on just getting better as a caster and was hoping you guys would check this out and give me honest feedback. I posted this on Reddit and no one saw it, so I am hoping I can get some constructive criticism here.

Honestly I don't even care if you flame me, as long as you are honest and I can take something away from the burn marks. :-)

I really like your voice for casting, you should utilize that more by adding some inflection during intense moments. But seriously, very enjoyable to listen to. Also, you got a case of the "um's" as the game went on. I know that's hard to fix, but keep that in mind.

And, I'm not sure how to word this, but perhaps work on staying "one step ahead" of the action in terms of your camera work. That will help your analysis as well, because as you bounce around the map with a higher frequency you can let us know what is going to happen next.

All and all I enjoyed the cast, keep it up sir.

Wish there was more - but perhaps everyone will say the same.

The umm thing is pervasive.. Not sure how to break it. I have and will continue to try though.

On staying one step ahead... I'm not sure how to do that without watching the game beforehand. I do that with my non-pro casts to help with analyzing, but when I do pro-casts it is cold, so I don;t know what is about to happen. Did you mean something else? Or are you saying maybe to watch them beforehand? or just be crisper with the mouse? In any case I will do what I can. Thanks again.

He means trying to better master the game. So that you can better predict what's going to happen before it happens. When you cast and predict what a player will do, and then it happens, that's rewarding. The best commentary comes from that.

You'll get a handle on the "umm" thing eventually, don't worry. Keep it up! Good to see more aspiring casters out there.
