First round I get a bye. Considering around 270 people checked in for the tournament, most people in the first round got byes.
Second round I faced a 2200 Zerg player. We elim our maps, and end up with Xelnaga caverns. I spawn top he spawns bottom. He doesn't fast expand, chosing to go for quick winglings while I open with my standart 9 pylon, 12 gate, 14 gas, 15 pylon. He tries scouting a few times with lings, but to no success. Time passes, and I get a stargate and 2 more gateways, making 3 total. At around 9 minutes i push out with a sizable gateway army (6-7 zealots, 4 stalkers, 1-2 sentries) and 3 void rays. He is caught completely off guard by the attack (he had just started his hydra den), and I won.
Third round I face a 900 point platium protoss player.
We get Xelnaga again. I use the PvP strategy i have been using recently (I call it the korean 3gate), and he falls pretty easily. At the start i remembered seeing a video of a very strong cannon rush on the bottom base of xelnaga, so i placed my first pylon in a place that would prevent that. Nothing much exciting here, and by this time I was feeling pretty good. I had made it farther than I expected.
Fourth roundI looked up my opponent, and i proceeded to shit my pants. 3150 Zerg at the top of their league. I still want to win though, so i go for it. We get Metalopolis as our map, he spawned bottom, i spawned top. I tried the same strategy that I used in the first game, but was met with three times the roaches compared to the first zerg. My void rays deal a bit of damage, but his roaches completely own all of my ground units. I enter a death struggle, defending from the mass burrowing roach (no tunneling claws yet) with only a few sentries and stalkers left at home. Forcefielding my ramp, i then see he starts to get hydras. After a bunch of forcefielding and a bit if mismicro, he storms up my ramp with quite a few Hydras and Roaches, and I GG.
Well, I made it past the point I thought I would, and thats what matters.
