So as usual me and my friends went to our hang out bar. In my surprise we were talking about movies for 5 hours straight without changing subject.
So the first question was: top5 actors in our opinions. We ended up with those:
1. Robert De Niro (need I explain mohawk) 2. Leonardo Di Caprio (this guy seriously after The Gangs Of New York hasnt played in a bad movie) 3. Christian Bale (Machinist!) 4. Samuel L. Jackson 5. and I think for the heck of it we decided we should put a woman here, so we picked Natalie Portman. (shaved head on V for Vendetta)
Now with just a top5 many different opinions occured, we said that it just cant be a top5 cause there are so many actors out there. I personally mentioned, Brad Pitt, Jack Nicholson, Al Pacino etc. You can imagine how big the list went after that.
Anyhow after that we started the top5 movies of all time.
1. The Big Lebowski 2. Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas 3. Matrix 4. The Lord Of The Rings 5. The Godfather
ofc there more on the list. after a while we also started talking about old movies that we had forgotten.
What is your own top5's ??

As for the movies, Amelie, Finding Nemo, American Beauty, The Godfather
Don't have a fifth.

I don't get why anybody likes Nicholas Cage. He kind of sucks at acting and he looks ugly...

Can't do actors because I can hardly think of one (let alone five) people who have ever truly amazed me with raw acting skill. I think directors / writers are more important and actors are generally just adrift at sea until a good director or writer throws them a life preserver. Character actors and non-actors exemplify this perfectly.
The best actors are usually just the people who were lucky enough to get consecutively hooked up with the best roles.
Top 5 films is easy though*:
1) Seven Samurai 2) Stalker 3) Woman in the Dunes 4) 8 1/2 5) Crumb
*imho of course

Each to there own but id never create a list like this without putting in,
The Shawshank Redemption Shindlers list Morgan freeman Pulpfiction
After re-reading the list only pulpfiction was mentiond from my small list which really surpises me, i thought that shawshank was widely conciderd in the top 3 films ever made.
