I remember my freshman year of High School I would rush to my friends house and we would set up our 360's in his garage and we would all play chromehounds together.

This game had mercenary corps that had reputations for being insanely strong and often dominated the game. Chromehounds even had a meta-game.

This wasn't any ordinary mech game, these "hounds" had a real heavy cyber punk feel to them. When you had 3 double cannons on your hound the recoil was insane.

Chromehounds is a video game for the Xbox 360. The game is set in an alternate universe where mechanised HOUNDs (a kind of mech) battle for control of Neroimus, a fictional region somewhere near Black Sea (according to the Japanese website). The game features a system for personalized customization of the player's mech and an online campaign mode where players wage war in a persistent world over Xbox Live.

Now a quick explanation of this game.

You are a mercenary in a war between Tarakia (U.S.), Morskoj (Russia), and Sal Kar (Middle Eastern Country). You could choose between 1 of the 3 countries and each country had their own style and look to them.

There was 6 classes in total I think it was something like
Scout, Soldier, Defender, Heavy Gunner, Sniper, and Commander

I could keep going on how this game is awesome but I just want to get out the general idea of this game out.

Well the reason I made this post because I put the game inside the my 360 today to only discover they took the server offline. It instantly put me into a depression that one of my favorite games is offline.

Just wanted to vent my feelings, and hopefully a few of you guys here played this game.

Oh man, chromehounds. I remember making a scout with all the impaling weapons and just racing around destroying bad guys

I wanted to play this game so bad when it first came out, but didn't have the money for it at the time. I then got it like 2 years later to find the online multiplayer dying out

I think it would have been awesome if I could actually have found a team to roll with, it's not fun on your own online. The competitive play would have been pretty awesome to watch imo. I also liked how communication was part of the game (you had to capture communication points to speak to your teammates within a certain area, so if you were doing something sneaky you would "go dark" and not know wtf was going on until you met up with your squad). You really felt cut off when you heard absolute silence in your headset when you could see a massive battle going on across the map.
Have you considered the MMO-Champion forum? You are just as irrational and delusional with the right portion of nostalgic populism. By the way: The old Brood War was absolutely unplayable
