Just felt like messing around on the new PL maps. i just tested random things I found interesting so this blog post isn't gonna have PvZ FE simcity placements or terran walls and stuff like that

Didn't really try much on this map either although i was curious as to whether it was possible to slide units through the gates haha. so i gathered a bunch of goons and put them right next to a gate and got 12 probes and clicked my ass off and actually managed to slide a few goons through although its really hard and totally not worth it hahaha.
The gates on middle hill are pretty funky. The two reavers didn't shoot even though there were in range of the enemy..
@ the 9:00 gate
however they will shoot if you attack your own stuff, and the scarab goes through pretty well too. I moved the reavers around a bit and although the scarabs got stuck most of the time one or two of them did manage to get through.
@ the 1:00 gate, I couldn't even get the scarabs to go through to my own buildings.
@ the 6:00 gate, same thing. it seems to work both ways though haha.

nice job! i wonder if they're gonna broadcast that PL map testing thing again. some progamer is gonna find one of these mistakes and inform the map makers, but you can say "i found it first!"
hrmm, was actually wondering how to block the 2nd path for punchbowl area. I think that the cannon or core block would be very effective. I gotta try that then =0
For punch bowl, 3 o clock can't be blocked with a core, or a forge, or robo. But a gateway works. Unfortunately your units will spawn on the other side.
Core works for 6 o clock, 12 o clock and 9 o clock (robo works for 9 but not forge). For 12 o clock core and forge will block but not robo. (but why would you place your robo there anyway right.)
Edit - When I say can't be blocked I mean lings can slip through.
Sim cities on this map will need to be close to nexus with at least one cannon covering probes me thinks. Better scout rigorously for those ling runbys T_T
I think the reaver needs to be hugging the gate for the scarab to go through, similar to how droping reavers behind minerals may trap scarabs unless the reaver is right next to the minerals. Then the scarab will glitch through the minerals, and it probably works the same with these gates.

i might try again but i doubt this will make it work. my reavers were right next to the gates and still didn't really do much... soo
yea anyway i've added a big spoiler at the end of the post for some fun bloody ridge stuff :D
