Onto the topic, the topic of "cheesy noobies" and losing to them. So first off I finally got into Diamond like 3 days ago pretty happy about that. I start playing and get paired up with a few people normal games then 1-2 people cheese. then yesterday I logged on started playing lost to cheese said fuck lets do that again then lost to another, I'm starting to get skeptical about diamond now, so I play another game and cheese again and I lose to it. That made me mad real mad, I was going to type something funny but in my current stage I just want to rant fuck making jokes.

Today I played a few games and faced 3-5 cheeses 2 i countered the others I lose. Among these cheeses are 6 pool proxy raxs proxy gates bunker rushes spine crawler bull shit, it's all fucking bull shit. I played a good standard game against a Zerg opponent not too much banelings more skewing towards roach hydra ling then I get a call from the credit card fucking company so I ask if I can pause and pause it, everything is fine get back to my comp ask him if he is ready he says yes awesome!

Laggy has left the game.

I go outside sit on the bench for 20 minutes come back, lose in a straight up game. Then I tell myself "I don't like feeling all this rage lets just play another game." so I play another game... The fucker goes proxy rax with bunkers. I fend it off with like 5 drones left, I carry myself to a mid game that I can't come back from, I fend off like 4 marine marauder pushes then I get overwhelmed.

I just can't handle losing anymore. When I was rank 1 Platinum I faced like 5 cheeses out of like 80 games or whatever. Since I got promoted to Diamond all I am fucking seeing is Cheese. This is getting old really quick, I am starting to think I am a terrible fucking player. I literally feel like I have to scout every corner of the map or I am fucked.

oh, and btw, you ARE a terrible player, no offense. But if you try to argue, D players are terrible, yes you can beat WoW players, but you are terrible.

and just learn to fight-off cheese, I know it is easier said than done, but find a practise partner and tell him to do all sorts of gay stuff so that you can prepare and fight them

yeah thats the problem with bnet 2.0 you gotta play on one account, and everything is recorded except for custom so like you don't have that "secondary account" that you didn't worry about your record and just played it out like you did in iccup
i think you gotta go for some more cheese-safe builds, and you know one extra probe in a mineral line with 25 probes already in it isn't going to do shit, so you gotta be safe and scout everywhere. progamers didn't do that in brood war because they were too lazy and couldn't handle the multitasking or whatever, not because they wanted to mine more or something

so just play it safe and go out, look at reps etc

Hmm, I think it's gonna get to the point where no one is really concerned about record- kinda like us west/ east accounts. Also, fighting off cheese makes you a better player- although I feel your pain D:

If you're losing to "cheesy noobies", then *they* aren't the noobies.

1. Learn to scout the cheese.
2. Learn to stop the cheese.
3. Learn to counter the cheese.

Cheesy strategies are completely viable strategies. Just because you lose to them doesn't mean they shouldn't be used. It just means that *you* need to improve your game a little, by learning to hold off these cheesy builds that others are doing. (You certainly don't need to cheese like everyone else is doing, if you don't want to.)

Let go of the notion that win by cheese is somehow less of a win than win in a macro game. Then learn some effective cheeses if that's what's working right now.

What are you talking about? Obviously a win by cheese is generally considered less of a win compare to a straight up game. Do people get humiliated by losing in a macro game? No. Do people get humiliated when their cheeses fail? Yes.

because when people only know how to cheese they end up in diamond. people below diamond will die to their cheeses.

and come on its diamond. going from plat to diamond is like going from bnet to iccup. you're at the bottom of the ladder, and you gotta work your way up, even though you're already better than the majority of starcraft players. and when people find themselves in this top percentage they start cheesing because they want the win ratio against people who count.
