I did this with my ex, you have to ease them into it. Play some UMS like evolves or turret defence to get them interested, THEN hit them with the iccup server  | ||

When my gf wanted to learn bw I first tought her how to beat the comp, it gave her something to strive for. Since she played Zerg I told her to go 3hatch mass speedling or some hydra break. Easy to learn and she reached her goal to beat the comp as well  | ||

On a related note, the SC compendium's descriptions of what all spells and abilities do are very accurate and detailed and thus worth reading for a player interested in learning the game. | ||

you probably didnt need to get very detailed (eg. 3 scv's per refinery thingy) when introducing the game to your gf and trying to incite her interest for the first time. but she sounds like an awesome gf anyways for taking notes. | ||
