So I've played 28 games as zerg on the 1v1 ladder so far. An interesting trend has be happening....
My games have consisted of 3 Terran,1 Zerg, and 24 Protoss.
WTF is this shit???? Now usually PvZ isn't that bad if it wasn't for all the fucking cheese these guys do. HOLY SHIT! Endless fighting vs 2gate, 4 warp gate, fast void rays, mass phoenix, pyloning my ramp like fucking idra vs tester. It's fucking bullshit. It's so fucking exhasting playing against that shit every fucking game.
I am seriously hoping its just because its the beginning of the game and not going to be how ladder is in 2 months from now. I don't even think Zerg exists anymore.
Fuck Protoss.

Its ok man. I like it when I play against the same race a lot, because then you can focus on one matchup and polish your builds ;-) Look at it this way, you might improve your PvZ a lot by the end of this "trial" because that's all you've been doing

lol my matchups are pretty even, but you should be happy cuz zvp is a lot easier than zvt  And many would argue zvp is easier than pvz too O-o

ive been getting nonstop t's and thats the worst. They can do whatever they want and unless you are twice as good as them you arent winning.

2 gate isn't cheese. And everyone have to deal with this, many Zergs do baneling all ins and terrans do proxy 2 port banshee and so on.

I guess I'm lucky to be playing against all matchups although I've played mostly against P and T.

Protoss are very easy to pick up, so I think a lot of the new people use them. What league are you in? I luckily don't have this problem because I play random, so I just pray I don't get ZvZ because that matchup very predictable and not very fun.
Also, like someone said above me, I feel like 2 gating and 4 gating aren't really cheese, but just a very standard and difficult style to play against.
Hopefully it will even out as people get better mechanics, are exposed to the game more and pick other races. I fear zergs will always be few and far between because it is a difficult race to play and a lot of it hinges on playing reactionary styles. Protoss can 4 gate, regardless of the their opponent's plan, but zergs might need to change their plan if they scout the 4gate.
At least you are doing well scouting the "cheese" though! As long as you see it coming, it is just a matter of punishing them for their risky play

hmm i play like 10-15% PvP, most games are vs Terran closely followed by Zergs.
Dunno if it depends on the league or just luck, doesn't rly matter anyway right? ^^

Funny I would love to play mostly protoss since it is my best matchup. Lots of protoss in my division but full ladder looks pretty spread out. Be glad you aren't playing terran 24 out of 28 games. You'll want to kill yourself
edit: Oh ya please don't throw around the word cheese. 2 gate isn't cheese. 4 gate is an all-in which isn't necessarily cheese. Void ray isn't cheese. Mass phoenix isn't cheese. Pylon ramp is cheese

I agree, I play Protoss (Don't stop reading now!) and I get cheesed by Terran A LOT, also Mech is a real pain to deal with.
I've played about 80% Terran myself, I wouldn't mind at all playing more Protoss games, Zerg would be nice too.

As Protoss easily 60-70 of my 100 ladder games were pvp.

In one of my 3v3 games the opponent all went Protoss and my team had one of each race. The other team all went 4 gate (as we predicted) and were able to take out my main hatch but my natural and tech was saved by my team... then we turtled for a little bit and pushed out with roaches and a marauder marine thor combo while our Protoss player massed zealots and stalkers. We proceeded to destroy the other team in a quick sweep of vengeance and furor.
This was easily the most fulfilling game I've ever played. I hate people that all in.

I've noticed a lack of zergs at the lower levels.
Also, I've noticed that even in Bronze, I always get placed against Plat players. Still don't know why. I rarely play other Bronzes.

Dude, you should be happy. PVZ is probably the most balanced matchup in the game right now. At least u aint playin terrans all the time or boring baneling zvz all the time

Assuming your ladder name is the same as your tl name, I was the zerg you played. I went roaches and tried to tech to mutas quickly but you got a spire 30 seconds earlier and I lost easily. In the chat you were talking about facing cheesy protosses. It was metalopolis and we were the positions close by air. My bnet name is Legion.
But yes I agree, it feels like the ladder consists mostly of deflecting 4 warpgate all day with intermittent zvts vs mech that go 25 minutes minimum. It's kinda strange that few protosses do 3 warpgate->expo->macro up gateway unit+colossus army as quickly as possible. That build is way more challenging than 4-warpgate to beat. The tester 2 gate zealot into fast expo is also really underused and powerful.

I stopped 14 pool 15 hatching against any race. Now I just 15 gas 15pool and it works perfectly fine. Idra was using it in some games in kotb tournament. I highly highly recommend it. Spoiler for which games I mention

I too used that build all day yesterday. It has it's pros and cons. It pretty much guarantee you an advantage against 2 gate, ramp cheese, hatch block, or some sort of very early terran aggro, but it results in a much weaker economy and a delayed tech. I would never want to be in a situation where I'd opened with that build instead of 14 pool 15 hatch vs terran mech or vs a defensive macro toss. Overall I think it's much better against protoss than it is against terran.

I'm starting to like cheese. All-ins are getting easy for me to fend off with scouting and a safe build. It's turtle terrans that sit until they get a 200/200 army that scare me.

not really mad, just super annoyed that the only games i can play in ladder is vs protoss. doesnt matter what build they do, starts to get boring
