So I’m playing a ZvT on SoW, some dumb ass achievement caring about noob decides he wants to get his unbreakable achievement (50 kills one unit or building)
After I destroy his main and natural, he hides in bottom right corner, and fills the entire thing with cannons doesn’t even have a nexus. I had gone ultras so run ultras up the ramp with hydras behind, throw away 2 maxed armies like this and realize it’s not going to do anything. So I have to put down spire and go BL.
Once I get BL this dumb bitch gets mad me for killing him before he can get his achievement, this is the first time he mentions it. And he says either run lings till he gets the achievement or kill every building, naturally I don’t want to help him after he wasted like 15 minutes of my time so I spend another 5 minutes finding and killing everything.
FUCK ACHIVEMENTS STAY ON THE XBOX WHERE YOU BELONG

I think Achievements on the XBox were also pretty lame.
I could care less if I was a Terran macro master. I already knew my macro was good enough for that.
I can sort of agree with you, though I would have to say that I'm thinking achievement whores are pretty rare...

I don't like them either, but damn how did you think running up a ramp vs cannons would work out? Just cast dark swarmPeople have been doing this shit forever anyways, even before achievements.

Don't let other people's idiocy ruin your day. If you get frustrated every time someone does something annoying then you'll spent your entire life pissed off. In this case you won the game, and he left pissed, so just smile and play another game.

Well i already had the ultras and hyrdas so i just did it, they killed a lot of cannons (ultras do so much damage vs buildings) Then i just remaxed and did it again thinking it would take 2 or 3 tims, but apprently he had planned this the whole way and stockpiled a butt fuck of minerals and just rebuilt

Achievments are the most useless feature the game can have, the gameplay itself should provide you with sense of achievement, not some shiny badge popping up once in a while informing you that you won X games vs completely random opponents.
I never understood that point of them. Who cares about them? Is it supposed to be like a proof that you did something "crazy" in-game in case nobody believes you?

I hate achievements there needs to be an option to turn them off, I don't want them spamming my screen!

Achievements are a great idea. Psychologically they do a good job of pointing newbs (most likely to be achievement hunters) in the right direction. Also, that's a really funny rage story.

Achievements are fine. They add something for people to go towards if you aren't a hardcore competitive gamer. Hell, somewhere around here people have even mentioned that there's a way to turn them off. If this is true (and it probably will happen eventually if it isn't), you have zero reason to complain because they don't hurt you in any way.

I've developed this (probably bad) habit of not really reading the chat, or like abandoning and ignoring it mid sentence if it sounds dumb. From years of reading bad forum/IM/chats/trolls. Thats why I dont really stress out over dumb things people say hehe . After that its just a plain old guy that sticks around the game too long (happens even before achievements)

Kind of. In some cases its a bit ridiculous - I'm fairly certain the Fast Expand achievement requires you to do completely retarded builds like a 10hatch though. I couldn't get a 14hatch to finish on time.

If your ticked off by it simply alt tab and let the kid eagerly await you to suicide 100 lings into his cannons... go make tea or something and laugh to yourself as some lowlife is sitting there praying he gets his achievement.
