As a followup to my last music-related blog (Dilly Dilly), I present another free online offering. This time I give you Yawn, a psychedelic/space/experimental act out of Chicago (I think). I figured because it seems like more people on TL are into acid than folk, perhaps this will be more interesting than dilly dilly.

So they have this EP available on their site for free. They are a largely electronic act with heavy use of samples. It's the very produced sound that's so very hip, but having a popular style doesn't mean they are derivative. The diversity of the sounds in each track is refreshing and there's more meaty style than another MGMT clone with hip-hop stylings. Tell me what you think.

Nah, just found out about it today. Last night was all about the Flying Lotus pandora station on my friend's phone.

The folk comment was referencing my previous blog.
