I've been playing really bad lately, at SC2 and I don't think I deserve to be in Platinum yet. Everytime I play a game, right after I win or lose, I watch my replay. I immediately pick off my mistakes, such as scouting - which I just suck at. But keep telling myself to scout better during the next game, but never happens.
Wins with one banshee Yesterday was just bad. This guy just humiliated me with his one banshee. Well, he didn't humiliate me, because I played very poorly, so I made him humiliate me.
Because he didn't wall off his base, I immediately made the assumption that he was not that good ( After watching the replay, he definitely was not that good, but I played even worse ). Because I did not scout the back of his base, I thought he had only one barrack, and it seemed like this where the game would end...
So, on my second attack, I pretty much went all in with my blings and lings ( did not bother to even upgrade to Lair). Broke into his wall, and thinking that he still had only one barrack, and kept toying with him until he would go GG. Which, of course, didn't happen - which seemed very weird.
7:23 That's when I "discovered" his starport. By "discovered", I mean that my zerglings uncovered it through fog of war, but I didn't see it at all until way after. But it was too late, he already had a banshee ready to go.
7:43 When he lifted his CC, I was like "ugh..a troll."
8:15 That's when I actually noticed his starport. It was too late...If only I had scouted his base properly...If only I had scouted the back of his base much earlier...
Anyway, I'm off to shoot an 11-hr wedding today, and same for tomorrow. So no SC2 for 2 days for me. By "shoot", I mean take photos.

At least, it seems, you do good analysis of your own games so keep on gaming! You will improve bit by bit.

One banshee could hurt your eco really bad, but it sounds like you had his base raped. Just pull drones and make an extra queen with an overseer.
Failure is the mother of success.

The lesson here is not so much about how to play tvz as it is about how to play rts 1v1... your attitude lost you that game.
Also lifting off his cc after you had him beat wouldn't have made him a 'troll'

Also lifting off his cc after you had him beat wouldn't have made him a 'troll' I agree. I have made the same mistake, assuming my opponent is just inferior.

That's one thing Day9 said recently that stuck. Don't just assume your opponent is bad, assume it's a proxy or just do your normal build. Don't keep your opponent's apparent lack of skill from detracting from your practice.
