SC2 Beta: Staring at the game

bconSaberRider Germany47 Posts April 22 2010 21:57 GMT #1 'Back in the days' I used to be a SC:BW Protoss player. After playing some games of SC2 Beta as rnd I came back to Toss. My APM in SC1 where about 80 (yes I really am a casual gamer). Now I had realize how much slower I am in SC2 -.- What are the reasons? 1) Staring at the game. I find my self very often in a kind of paralyzed situation. Staring at all those these grafical details. 2) Don't know what to do - yet. I go very fast observer. I anticipate what they are doing - but don't react. This is a thing of knowledge I guess. But often times I just don't know how to counter. 3) Workers find their way. Pathing the probes to the minerals reduces my focus. I start to watch the game (point 1). ---- Don't get me wrong, I love the game =)

Xenocide_Knight Korea (South)2625 Posts April 22 2010 22:15 GMT #3 Yea my max apm is still around the same as BW but my average apm has been cut in half Mostly because in BW, we all knew exactly what to do without thinking if you saw a 2 rax in zvt, you add sunkens if you see 2 hatch lair in tvz, you add turrets and watch for hydra den etc we're just not used to the game yet
