I finally got into the beta and I love it. I'm a Z player in SC1, however I chose to play T in SC2. Mostly by default : Z looked way broken from streams, and P never appealed me.
So here I am, playing T, lot of games, ranked 3rd in the platinum ladder of my division (17).
Early game :
Truth be said, I win a lot of games within 6 minutes. 6 minutes and 10 seconds actually. Lately I even call I'm rushing because I want them to be ready for it. I found out that zealots/zerglings are a solid counter to my rush (4~5 Marauders / 10~11 Marines / 4 scvs / rally both rax in their base).
Now. Desert Oasis, and the Scrapyard. Long distances map. Stupidly positioned expos. Versus a Zerg... Well I can't win this.
Mid game :
I can't sit on my bases on those maps. Too many holes. If I invest in defense, I just get out-macroed. If I don't, they just zerglings/roach/whatever kill my expos... They have too much map control, zerglings on watchtowers, overlord around the map. Sure I can snipe ovies with vikings, but that would also force hydralisks, which rape anything air (just anything tbh) in a matter a seconds. One micro mistake, and byebye X*(125/100).
Also roaches... how many times I died to just pure roach build. Nothing else, just 15 roach. Now that's an interesting army composition my Z friend. Well he doesn't mind because they rape all, burrow, and go rape your SCVs if you didnt invest in those 100(90?) turrets just in case.
Hell yeah they can even micro their troops to death (burrow dance, banelings flanking) while not macroing at all. Because they don't care if they float. They are not punished for floating. Not at all.
"Wow I did good with those roaches! Omg look here 900 minerals, me gonna make good use of those 14 idle larvae and spawn more roaches... wait no, he had A viking, i'll just go hydralisk kekeke".
And there we go, macro has been honored, your 6 hydralisk 6 roach army can take out any terran expos, back to floating while doing so.
Bah... any advice for having a solid mid game on those maps, that MU, T side?
