im annoyed that i cant win a simple game vs 2 of my friends who just started to play SC. atm, im trying to give them game sense and make them faster so they can perform build orders and basics. to keep them playing, i play some UMS and play fastest with them. it seems i cant beat them in 1v2 and im getting really angry after losing to so much shit that isnt suppose to kill a protoss.. Anyone know strategies because Fastest is a map im unfamiliar with and i dont play 1v2 very often.

if your friends are bad (sounds like they are), you should be able to win a 1v2 easily, especially on fastest. all you have to do is open with cannons and several extra nexuses behind your mineral stack to pump probes and build a sick economy within minutes. then, tech to arbiters, reavers, and storm, and keep recalling shit into their economy while you build as many gateways as you can fit in your base, outlining your entire base with cannons. if you succeed in killing their nexuses, just keep pumping crap from your production facilities and throwing it at them until they run out of resources and can't keep up with their inferior economies.

You are obviously inexperienced. To play 1v2, I would suggest going Protoss. You said your opponents were bad, so try going pylon 4xgate nex, produce zeal from all 4 gates, after nex get 2 gas + core and start to tech. You could prolly kill one of them just by streaming 4 gate zeal, depending on how bad they are. From there I just normally wing it, adding gates + tech as necessary. If you have any macro at all you'll find Fastest map to be really easy, as you can tech/add gates/improve econ all at the same time.

I mostly agree with Numlock, although more than 4 gates is fine. If they're as bad as you say, the Zealots → Goon switch should kill at least one.

If they're just going mass cannon to survive initially (or mass bunker, sunken), then switch to Goon/Reaver as primary army.

Fastest should be played aggressively rather than cannoning up and massing probes. There is enough money flow to play aggressively while still building a fearsome economy.

is playing on fastest really that different from ladder maps? the only other person on my campus I know plays sc only plays on b.net and fastest maps....really wanna convert him xD

but if I'm d+ and he's just some kid who plays fastest think he could beat me?

Haha, noone will believe me, but there's actually some very good fastest players.
There's just much more bad ones, which gives people the impression that fastest is all for noobs.

You should do a mixed fastest/low Bo5!

Btw Op: I think zerg would be an easier 1v2 race. If you can survive the early game zealot rushes and get up a sunken spore lurk defense with likle 30 hatches, you'll be unbreakable and you can just mass anything and kill them 1 by 1. But only if they suck alot, or theyll just zealot rush you hard

it helps macro in a huge way, same with bgh if you can keep your money down on either one of those you must have insane macro..

but go protoss, and rush fast goon tech then over power them with decent micro.

Heres my toss build that i've won in 1v2 2v3 situations before with. 7 pylon, 10 nexus, then get a forge and cannons in a simcity that suits the position and covers your mineral line well. I get 4 cannons usually. Then its just simply mass gateways and let your eco explode, you can max out by 9 minutes with pure speedlots and roll over anyone, with upgrades going from 3 forge plus a robotics and obs. The guy who said about going to arbiters or whatever is making it too complex, theres no need to be sitting around massing cannons. More around the nexus later on is ok but just keep it simple. This build finishes the game by 15 minutes or less usually in 3v3. Keep your macro up fully and mineral count right down and the others, even in a team game, usually cannot stop it.
