I just have to say, We're responsible We should be the ones held accountable We have the resources to help them and the ability But we care too much about this word called "sovereignty"
We neglect those in trouble because they're different The languages they speak are incoherent We can't understand the situation at hand because the media we watch is ignorant
If we continue to condemn the bearers of the burden Then we've surely lost all hope, given up, given in
For we stand in the age of information Yet information is hard to come by We could have saved the lives of a nation But we sat down and watched Haiti die
The sins of man are great The good deeds of men are greater We should be solving the predicament now Rather than hoping for it to fix itself later
I admire the people who donate I admire those who volunteer I admit I'm not the most generous But I think change is near
The power of the world isn't nuclear It's not coal or money or fear The power of the world is help Relentless, limitless help
Embracing the less sophisticated Committing to teach the uneducated Helping the poor become stable And making sure minds are enabled
Imagine a place, so abundant of wealth That everyone can share their vast mental health
This place is called earth And this wealth is called knowledge we should't have to be lucky to understand what they teach in college
I say what I do In hopes to inspire you To think of the world as a whole And not just a place that pays the toll
Lack of help and education is what prevents a first place winner in a third world nation

In the united states we're lucky to have foundations, we can expect a free education, and a community that shows us norms and taboos, and expects us to follow the guidelines of society
Just because countries don't have those foundations it makes them idiots?
I hope you're being sarcastic, or maybe thats what you believe, in either case I'd appreciate it if you saved the political criticisms for another blog, I'm not trying to force these ideas down your throat, you don't have to read my blog anymore if you don't like what I have to say
Now on the other hand, if you have grammatical or linguistics issues that you'd like to criticize me about, go right ahead, because that's what this blog is about, My poetry.
I just hope my poem gets people thinking, not necessarily agreeing 100% with it, just thinking about it, and the problems I describe. Because if you're not thinking about it, you're neglecting it, and this is something I feel should not be neglected.
